Sometimes, Council needs a reminder map, or three, of where the existing ingredients for successful neighborhoods – sidewalks, community spaces, and high latent demand, just to name a few – are actually located in Edmonds. (Spoiler: it's not along State Route 99.)

Many Americans only go out on the weekends because going anywhere requires driving long distances, which takes too much time and energy during the week.

When Americans go on vacation, they like places to conveniently walk or bike around, and yet many of those same people will oppose this walkable urbanism in their own hometowns.
Seattle used to have these laws when Mark Sidran was city attorney in the '90s.
Spoiler alert: it didn't work then. It won't work now. Folks who are homeless need housing. Provide that, not an ordinance criminalizing sitting down.
