The Caballero Creek Park, when completed, will serve as a destination and access point on the L.A. RiverWay path to walk, bike, and play – a place where wetlands will flourish with native habitat and Angelenos can connect to nature.
Proud to join @BobBlumenfield@LADOTofficial@MayorOfLA opening the new Headwaters section of the LA River Bike Path project. It’s is a great example of a project that reimagines street design & includes elements that address climate change and is a wonderful collaborative effort
Today I welcomed bike advocates and city leaders to unveil the newest portion of the LA River Bike Path. Located at the headwaters of the River from Owensmouth Ave to Mason Ave, this 1.5 mile of new path connects to established portions we helped create over the past few years.
Thanks to organizations like @lacbc and our city partners, including @LARiverWorks, @LADOTofficial and @BSSLosAngeles for joining together as we continue to make LA a city where Angelenos can bike and walk without fear.
It's the first day of the #StrengthandLoveLA Memorial — a 3-day virtual event for all Angelenos.
Tonight at 8 p.m., clap in honor of the angels who supported L.A. during the pandemic — first responders, essential workers, small business owners, & more.

@laurafriedman43 @AsmJesseGabriel@SenBobHertzberg @Asm_Nazarian @AsmLuzRivas@SheilaKuehl@HildaSolis@MayorOfLA @RepAdamSchiff @BradSherman Stellar group! Thanks for bringing the Valley together @laurafriedman43 to figure a path to traffic-shortcutting, drought-busting, heat-defeating, nature-restoring, neighborhood-strengthening opportunity hiding in what once was a river, and can be again.
Yesterday, staff from state, local, & federal offices along the SFV portion of the LA River met w/ LA’s RiverWorks team to discuss completing the LA RiverWay Bike Path. This is a crucial piece of active transportation infrastructure that I am committed to helping complete.

@jonlovett You were wondering about the history of the LA River…It was paved last century after damaging flood events, as a growing LA urbanized along its banks. This has (so far) prevented more floods—but wrecked its ecology. We’re working hard to safely bring it back to life.
