Coach John O’Loughlin- “Coach O” ‘59- 60 years of Dedicated Excellence in the classroom and on the court/diamond at LA!! Coach O has had such a positive impact on so many Ramblers and as a mentor to so many coaches!! His Legacy is undeniable. We Love You Coach!!
R.I.P. John Polka, long of @FenwickboysXC, a star runner at @CrusaderTF_XC, graduate of @smumn & a longtime @IHSA_IL T&F & XC official. I was honored to coach with him for 3 years.
The #IHSA sends its condolences to the family, friends, & countless students John impacted during his career.
John was an @IHSAofficials in cross country and track & field for nearly 60 combined years and was a fixture working state track for decades. He will be missed.
Great display of sportsmanship by @CaravanFootball toward @Loyola_FB. Before the @IHSA_IL Class 8A state final, the rivalry between the state’s top teams took a brief pause as the newly crowned 7A champs created a tunnel of support for the Ramblers as they walked onto the field.
Coaches want to see you take a leadership role. Upperclassmen should be teaching younger players to make good decisions on & off the court. Set an example. Be someone others can look up to for doing the right things. Leaders help others develop into better versions of themselves!
5 questions you can ask your child after a game.
1. Did you have fun?
2. What did you learn?
3. Did you do your best?
4. Were you a positive leader?
5. Did you support your teammates?
And wrap it up by saying...
“I Love Watching You Play!”
