After a really physically & emotionally tough year (before even adding uni into the mix! π€―) I am RELIEVED to disclose that I have achieved:
β΄οΈ Biology of survival (S295) - grade 2
β΄οΈ Cell biology (S294) - grade 2
At level 2 with @OpenUniversity
Come and visit our stand next weekend at the Derbyshire Woodland Festival. We are at Stand 144 in Zone D (near lots of food stands) on the track from the white bridge over the top of the lake to the Castle and farm buildings
In about another hour I will be starting my (2nd year) 3hr cell biology exam which I had to postpone in June due to ill health π€π¬π€ Fairly nervous. See you all the other side π
Crabby but beautiful little Robin (handled under license). It's been given a ring already by someone else & is a young bird as inside it's mouth wasn't black yet π
Adding to our scientific understanding β€οΈ Flew off safely after a few health checks & measurements.

I've had a rough year & burnt out between fluctuating health, supporting my own family, supporting friends & trying to stay active with wildlife conservation projects. Oh, & doing 2 university modules at once π€£
I've stepped back the past couple of months to try & recharge π
I have given up on instagram for now as I really wanted to use threads but it's not set up for scheduling posts yet.
I have set up a separate X (twitter) account though under PT_Nerd_UK to keep my personal life/posts a little separate πβΊοΈ
I still haveπ¦ but don't check it regularly. Most people I was connected to have leftπ
I can be found on one of these - created in an random ADHD hyperfocus moment π

@Au_Erithacus I was selected for the grant this year and went to Dorset with Portland Breakwaters ringing group π₯° I think I will probably have to self fund to go back next year?
That's 4 cygnets on my training list π₯°
If anyone can help hook me up with wetlands ringers and/or gull ringers closer to South Derbyshire I would be eternally greatful π I'm a first year T-permit ringer working with passerines but I also ADORE my WeBs counts.
