@cunardline Your cruises may be good for my well-being, BUT the unreasonably long wait times to speak with your UK customer service line about both new and existing bookings, drives me mad 😩
@LornaJaneActive love your clothes, but you don't accept @AmericanExpress . I love my Amex more than I love your clothes, so no sale (and lots of time wasted by your sales assistant wrapping and ringing up the 6 items I was going to purchase).
@latikambourke Thank you for this article, reminding us of what these women suffered.
To the women involved, my sadness, anger for what happened, and my support for your pursuit of justice.
The AU gov and AFP also let you down, and they too need to be held to account.
@drajm I flew Qantas today. Several announcements were made re masks, explaining they were not mandatory but if customers would prefer to wear masks, they were being oferred, complimentary, on boarding. I'm no fan of Qantas but I think this is a considerate act.
@amandalhu It was VERY normal. Remember the add for CODRAL cold and flu tablets that encouraged sick people to carry on daily activities (despite having a transmissible virus) https://t.co/jBQyxfv8pX
@cathaypacific Great for residents, long overdue, but no tourist is going to come when they still have to do PCR tests on arrival and day 2, 4 and 6. Made worse by the threat of an unplanned stay at Penny’s Bay if they test positive.
@tripperhead Ironic that despite the toughest measures, quarantine, isolation etc, that HK has the WORST outcomes in CUMMALATIVE per capita deaths (v's Asian countries). Even on a global scale it ranks above the world average. So much societal and economic damage for such a poor outcome.
@nickihutley @Qantas Frustrating as this is, for many @strandedaussies, their QF flight was delayed for almost 2 years, left stranded overseas, still waiting refunds for unused return sectors. They did not just miss connections, they missed families, births, deaths, funerals and lost marriages.
@psvbluemts Does this apply to all potentially fatal airborne / contagious diseases**, or just Covid?
** for example:
Chickenpox.
Influenza.
Pertussis (whooping cough)
Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV)
In recent @smh article re reducing mandatory isolation from 7 to 5 days, @profesterman was quoted as saying UK, which has lifted mandatory isolation, is “in deep strife” with COVID cases.
Worth noting, UK cases per capita have been far LOWER than AU for most of 2022.
@ProfKarolSikora Agree. As someone who took those tentative first steps out of my comfort (eating) zone to start walking, then running, I have immense admiration for those making the effort. I was lucky to be encouraged by fellow runners. It changed my life, I wish them the same 👍
@i_petersen Well reasoned thread.
I wear an N95 mask when in crowded places, indoors or on public transport, my choice.
But, I don't feel the need to force my views on others and I don't support mask mandates.
@estein_@tripperhead Great it's improved but what about "6 PCR tests, 10 RAT tests, 3 nights incarceration, 4 days limited access to venues etc" is normal in 2022? Sad to see HK left locked in 2020, while the world moves on.
@hkfp 6 PCR tests (inc pre departure), 10 RAT tests, 3 days incaceration, 4 days restricted access to venues … what about this is normal/acceptable in 2022? Sad to see Asias World City, fall so far behind.
