We’re recruiting a new PhD student (full scholarship, tuition fee waiver) for our project investigating systematic form meaning mappings in natural language using fMRI and MEG. Candidates should have a masters degree with relevant training and experience.

Pleased to see this paper out in Cortex with @JArciuli @ValTolkacheva. Using fMRI, we show non-arbitrary sublexical mappings between concrete/abstract meanings in words and nonwords activate the semantic network similarly. https://t.co/pMPju7Ed22

New article revealing a hitherto unknown glass half-empty perspective on the empirical evidence for embodied action semantics (warning: includes a rant about research practices): https://t.co/mQj5aTESw4

We show that English words' concreteness ratings are strongly related to their surface form features. @ek_kearney @JArciuli @GuentherLab @Prof_KatieMcM
