A perfectly good move for Black in this position is 28 ... Qxe4. ๐
But I played 28 ... Qf5??
Bad move. โน๏ธ
White can respond with a #knightfork, 29 Nd6+!, winning the queen. ๐ฎ

As Black in this position, I played 11 ... h6??
Bad move. โน๏ธ
This allows a #knightfork after 12 Qh5+! Kd7 (12 ... Kf8?? 13 Qf7#) 13 Nf7. ๐ฎ
A better move for Black might be 11 ... b5. ๐

As White here, I played 47 b5??
Bad move. โน๏ธ
This loses a pawn: 47 ... Ba5 48 Ke2 (48 b6? Bb4 49 Nb1 Bc2) Bb4 49 Nb1 Bxb5+. ๐ฎ
It is best to play 47 h4, with an eventual draw being likely. ๐

A good defensive move for me as Black here would have been 15 ... Rh6. ๐
But I played 15 ... h4? โน๏ธ
This loses material: 16 Bxc6! hxg3+ 17 hxg3 Rxh1 18 Qxb7+ Kd8 19 Qb8+ Qc8 20 Qxc8+ Kxc8 21 Rxh1. ๐ฎ

As Black in this position, I played 18 ... Nd5??
Bad move. โน๏ธ
This allows White to win a rook for a bishop with 19 Rg3 g6 20 Nxf6+ Qxf6 21 Bxf8 Rxf8. ๐ฎ
A better move would be 18 ... Rfe8. ๐

My black queen is in danger. ๐ฎ
15 ... Qe7 would have been safe, but I thought 15 ... e5?? was clever. ๐
It is not. โน๏ธ
White can take the pawn, 16 Bxe5, as 16 ... Qxe5?? leads to the pinning 17 Rfe1! ๐ฌ

As Black in this position, I played 32 ... Ke7??
Bad move. โน๏ธ
This enables White to execute a #knightfork, 33 Nc6+, which wins the rook for the knight.
A better move may have been 32 ... Rd5+. ๐
#chess#chesstactics#chessimprovement
Best for White here is 24 Qxf6.
But does 24 Bf5?? pin the black queen? ๐
Only temporarily. โน๏ธ
With the light-squared white bishop now off the long diagonal, Black wins much materiel: 24 ... Rh2+ 25 Kg1 Rh1+ 26 Kf2 (26 Kg2?? R8h2#) Qxf5+ 27 K~ Rxf1 etc. ๐ฎ

A good move for White here might be 37 Ra1 or 37 Bxd5+, but my 37 Ke1? is a mistake that loses the exchange after 37 ... Bg3+, e.g. 38 Rf2 Bxf2+ 39 Kxf2 or 38 Kd1 Nb2+ 39 Kc1 Bxf1 40 Kxb2. ๐

My 20 ... f6?? is a blunder that opens up the c4-g8 diagonal and allows 21 Qg8#. ๐ฎ
What move should I have played instead? I am not quite sure, but perhaps 20 ... Bb5 offers some chances of counterplay. ๐

A safe move for Black in this position might be 13 ... a6, but I took what I thought was a free pawn: 13 ... Nxe4??
Bad move. โน๏ธ
White can deliver a #queenfork, 14 Qd5+, which wins the knight. โน๏ธ

This position is based on one from a game on @chesscom that I lost against Dash the reindeer #chess bot. ๐ฆ
My white king is in check. ๐ฎ
Ke4 is best, but I thought Kc2, attacking the d1-rook, looked good. ๐
It is not. โน๏ธ
Black plays ... Ne3+, a #knightfork that wins the queen.

Perhaps best for White here is 20 e4, but I played 20 Bc1??
Bad move. โน๏ธ
Black grabs the a1-rook, and not even a white counterattack on the a3-f8 diagonal is adequate compensation: 20 ... Be5 21 Ba3 Bxa1 22 Bxc5 ~ 23 Bxf8 Kxf8.
