@RachelJWillie Sadly the answer is simple, set up a small business and sell them back to your uni travel agent at £140/night. Seriously though, this is rubbish, we used to have an exemption if you could book it yourself cheaper but guess that’s been removed from systems now
@michaelwdurrant A gallimaufry (variant spellings) is a big mixed up ‘thing’ - I’d associate it with a crowd of varied entertainments, but no reason it couldn’t be a recipe for mixed up leftovers/bundle of sweet things
@ChrisKempshall Critically, they can only enter via the room you are in; everyone starts zooming from tiny cupboards; society has brief horror then a collective shrug as we adjust our camera settings and pretend vampires don’t exist.

@SRSRenSoc @TraceLarkhall @RobbieHand @avoiding_bears No, I dimly recall in Sheffield he took Feisal Mohamed out for dinner on behalf of SRS and introduced him to penalties via the England-Colombia game. Wild.
@DavidVeevers1 Definitely not a weird (charter-based!) hangover of royal prerogative, no siree, not in our nice new republic with its balance of powers.
@DavidVeevers1 “Shouldn’t you be in a different department?” 🙄 but seriously, the varieties of ‘what was your worst teaching/research/etc experience and what did you learn?’ - easy if you’ve thought about it, tough on the spot. Good luck!
