It's that time of year again: May heralds our annual 100 mile challenge. This year it's the Hunnypot Hundred in Kent - the main event will be the BH weekend at the end of the month, and this weekend it's the marshals' walk. They'll be setting off at 10am.Good luck to all!
We can recommend our events - they aren't races and there are no prizes, but runners are welcome to take part. Even we would struggle to make an event break even at £6 entry, but most of our shorter events (20-30 miles) are £10-20. For a 50 miler usually £30-40.
It was great when you paid £6 for a race entry fee and got a £1 off. Not so good when it's 50 notes or more. It's a sport for the relatively affluent now, cafe culture, craft beers, gels, powders, arm sleeves, high end watches and super duper shoes. Glad I did it earlier.
Undoubted star of the event: walker who wanted to retire at 30 miles and take a taxi home. She couldn't get one... so she figured she'd have to keep on walking as she had no other option. She finished!
Another successful A Coventry Way challenge - organised jointly by the ACW Association and Heart of England LDWA group. 42 miles through a mixture of town and country.

@SnailsMigrate @X@UKRunChat@TrainAsONE@GarminFitness We don't use it regularly, not by a deliberate decision but because our chief tweeter stepped down some years ago and we haven't had anyone volunteer to take it on since. We suggest you head over to our Facebook group, which is very active - you're likely to find someone there.

The Birmingham Canal Canter is known for its cake competition. As usual, this year's event has attracted a strong field, but the chocolate and hazelnut layer cake is going to be very difficult to beat.
A wonderful time, in perfect weather, on the 24 mile Calderdale Crawl yesterday.
Thanks to West Yorkshire branch of @LDWA1 for the great organisation & wonderful food, en route and at the finish.
We even got a souvenir cloth badge as well!

"Effects of ultra-endurance exercise on posture" - or, as it's more commonly known within the LDWA, "the lean". Several cases noted on this year's Flower of Suffolk 100.
