Without even looking at the USA, if you're even mildly conservative, you cannot work in the public sector or on a university campus without having to keep details of your private life quiet, and you don't even dare let slip a political opinion in fear of being hounded out of your job - especially if you don't think men should be participating in women's sports or using the women's toilets - and not if you think immigration should be controlled.

You, Tom Walker, can go anywhere and freely spout your vacuous bilge but if you're a right wing public speaker, you have to know where the emergency exits are. Why? Because the left is violent. Violent to the extent that they'll slash up a painting or throw milkshakes at politicians - while telling themselves "it's ok to punch a TERF" - and think nothing of marching through London waving the flag of Islamo-leftist revolution chanting genocidal slogans and protesting synagogues. MPs are not putting CCTV cameras up at their constituency offices in fear of the "far right". It's in case any of the left wing Gaza protestors show up.

And it's not just the extremes of the left. The mainstream left was fine with cancelling people for their opinions - even one as lowkey and dull as wanting to leave the EU - to the point of protesting the referendum result and the result of subsequent general elections. I was a prominent leave campaigner and soon came to learn they wanted me humiliated, bankrupted and preferably dead - but they would settle for mob reporting to get us all banned from Twitter. It's clear they don't think we should even get a vote.

This "both sides" shtick doesn't wash. Yes, there are extremes are Tommy Robinson demos - hardline antisemitic ultranationalists, but TR doesn't encourage them. He tells them not to attend. Meanwhile, left wing MPs and Guardian columnists routinely demonise anyone on the right by labelling them far right fascists.

But if you want to talk about America, let's go. Let's talk about how BLM ransacked entire cities, ripped down statues and torched businesses. Let's talk about left wing activists burning down Tesla dealerships. Let's talk about how the works of JK Rowling have been ripped from shelves and thrown into the fire. And students defiling Charlie Kirk memorial shrines. Meanwhile, there hasn't been a single right wing riot over Charlie Kirk.

But you're right. The right will use this to clamp down on the left. Because it's about time. There's a reason the left behave the way they do, in the street and on campuses. It's because they've been overindulged and their behaviour has had no consequences. Now we learn that if they do not face consequences then they graduate to murdering people they disapprove of.

As you point out in the words of Bob Vylan, "chat shit, get banged", we have to take that deadly seriously - because in his own grunting, inarticulate way, he's distilled what the left actually thinks. There is not a fag paper's difference in substance between the misanthropic grunting of Bob Vylan and leftist sociology professors. We have to do something about that.

As such, I don't want to see Trump or anybody else on the right calling for calm and unity. A line has been crossed. I do not want unity with these people - or the people like you who make excuses for them. Their ideas are unacceptable. Their behavior is unacceptable. Some ideas should be ostracised, not least the idea that men can become women - because thousands of young people have been permanently sterilised and mutilated.

I can take or leave your rant as well intentioned, but you conclude by saying "This is the culture that made Charlie Kirk, and it is the one that killed him" as though Charlie Kirk were some kind of extremist. In this you reveal your profound ignorance. Charlie Kirk was just a devout Christian conservative with conventional Christian conservative views - whose only crime was to calmly articulate his ideas to a hostile audience. As was his right under the First Amendment. He did nothing to contribute to the environment that produced his killer. Your equivocation does though.

I’ve been thinking for a while that the next iteration of the mind virus was going to be “mental health.” It’s much more nebulous than dividing people down immutable lines of skin colour and sexual orientation, and most importantly everyone can get in on the game. It’s very inclusive in that way.

Using “mental health” as an excuse for demonic behaviour means that no one can ever be held responsible for anything that they do. Murder children - “Mental health!” Maul an army officer outside of his house and lick the blade afterwards - “Mental health!” Create and share child pornography - “Mental health!”

The “Mental health” variant of the mind virus drags down standards of behaviour to the very bottom of the sewer of human depravity. Nothing is just evil or abhorrent anymore. Crimes can’t just be defined or condemned. There’s now the perfect caveat for everything. “Mental health!”

Without even the simplest of moral codes, society will continue to degrade. It’s all part of equity, moral relativism and equality of outcome game. Next up will be intellectual equity. It will be the insistence that everyone is exactly the same in every single way. Blessed with exactly the same intellect and moral compass. That should someone work harder and do better in an exam than someone else, or decide against murdering innocent children, those decisions aren’t the result of individual choice, they are because the non murderer has some innate privilege that the murderer didn’t have, a hidden privilege which prevented them from committing the heinous crime themselves, and that, rather than the crime itself is what must be studied and focused on. You can guess who will overwhelmingly be the beneficiaries of this invisible privilege already. White, straight, Christian men.

We have no excuse left. There are only so many parks and prams which can be set upon by evil men with knives, or bombs set off at children’s concerts, or people randomly massacred in the street and newly childless families sat in blank horror beside the now empty bed which their most loved was in this morning, before the cracks begin to become chasms.

Politicians will not, or cannot deal with this issue. Instead they blame the victims. They blame them for their racism or their Islamophobia, and they make excuses for the perpetrators. That is not how a society thrives. A society which will not separate right from wrong in an unequivocal way, is a weak society on its last legs.

Britain has its fair share of crazed maniacs. Dunblane, Hungerford etc. These were thankfully supremely rare and yet now almost daily we are being asked to process acts of similar horror. Many of these tragedies we brought upon ourselves, with our self loathing and open borders, combined with a a disgust of detterence and a weak and undefined sense of compassion.

We need to buck up our ideas. To teach the difference between right and wrong. Not put each of these horrors into some grey area of “mental health.” Motive is important. You cannot stop crimes unless you analyse motives and use that knowledge to prevent future horrors.

The job of the police and the security services is to protect the population from these demons, not use their powers to harass, intimidate and persecute those who expose their ineptitude to the world. It’s upside down and it’s profoundly wrong.

Britain needs to close its borders and the security services need to find every single person who has arrived here having lost their entire identity on the way, and assess their threat to the native population. Unless we take our security seriously, then these attacks will continue, and who knows what grisly horrors lurk just around the corner.
