The Azteca is a proper football stadium. The whole tournament should've been in Mexico, but that wouldn't earn FIFA the money they want. No one would have visa issues. Everyone would be welcomed with grace. A proper world cup atmosphere.
16 stadiums at this World Cup. None of the others can match the football pedigree that this one has.
104 total matches at this tournament. This one gets just 5, two of them knockout games, and nothing after the Round of 16.
Real shame.
[🟢] England beat Miami FC 6-0 during their final practice match before the World Cup begins.
Ngumoha scored and his goal was also said to be a breathtaking strike from distance.

I see Apple is now in the business of mindless mental torture. If you do not wish to express yourself using their utterly useless and obnoxious text animations, they put you through trials that feel like those bad dreams where using your phone is impossible. Fuck you
I hate niggas who think like this alexander was groomed from a young age to be leader he had fucking aristotle as a private tutor in one of the most advanced civilizations at the time, he was great but he was MADE great. Your ass goes to a public school with no toilet paper.
Giving full creative oversight to a guy who does not want Star Wars to evolve beyond the sandbox of static live-action adaptations of his cartoon characters might be the final nail in this franchise's coffin.
When Russia hosted the World Cup in 2018, it had to suspend normal visa rules for the tournament. Foreigners with tickets could enter visa-free, using a scheme called ‘Fan ID.’
Russia also had to do weird stuff to keep FIFA’s sponsors happy. For example, small shops near Fan Zones and stadiums could only sell Budweiser beer on match days.
So yes, FIFA absolutely does dictate conditions to host governments when it suits FIFA. Infantino pretending otherwise is nonsense.
yk fifa banned south africa from international football for 40 years bc of its racist apartheid policies but now it’s “fifa cannot solve geopolitical problems”
The thing about Messi is, he hasn’t really detriorated since 2022. At least not significantly.
Obviously doesn’t have the PnP, but that’s been gone for a good 5 years. And he still retains enough of a burst to get past his man over short distances, which is really all he needs for the way he’s evolved his game.
What I can say with certainty is his playmaking and attacking efficiency is as sharp as ever, the best around.
When you combine that with a system that is built around him and an OOP that subsequently compensates, and he’s going to be brilliant at the World Cup.
