Being ‘out’ as an educator can be challenging but visibility is powerful. When coupled with an #LGBTQ inclusive education, it encourages students to be compassionate individuals equipped with the skills & knowledge to stand up not only for themselves but for others too #pride

@KhakanQureshi @5Pillarsuk In doing this, the school is endorsing the view that being LGBT is unacceptable. In our society it is perfectly fine to be whoever you are, regardless of other people’s opinions of it. The views of some religious scholars must not be allowed to surprises the identity of others.

@KhakanQureshi @5Pillarsuk A school should not be apologising for upholding the Equalities act and promoting good relations between people with protected characteristics. This includes people whose identities are intersectional and combine their religious beliefs and their sexuality. 1/2
