@madbeatboy@RadioFreeTom @SuzyQEyes The answer is, yes. Thankfully, most European countries have coalition governments with institutional guardrails, compared to our norms and traditions. I assume you’re anti-authoritarian (as am I). Be careful not to defend Europe’s far right, in an effort to denounce America’s.
@madbeatboy@RadioFreeTom @SuzyQEyes Europe immune? North to south, east to west - there’s a web of totalitarian, authoritarian, dictatorial & fascist European leaders, demagogues & political influencers stretching from ancient Rome to the present. The historical European track record is far worse than the US.
@MrFamilyOffice Every FO is different, so no clear answer to this. But it’s one area where we see large variability and differing approaches to FO management.
@MrFamilyOffice Telling how next-gen focus represents the least amount of time. Most FOs are built to be multi-gen. Does this show that the top gen isn’t focused on next-gen leadership, or that next-gen involvement is so baked into structure that it doesn’t need a specific time allocation?
@OfficialBBrooks Also, an interesting data point from the founder side: angels are shifting away from funding pre-rev development and focusing more on revenue traction before investing. I.e., the pool for pre-seed development capacity may be shrinking even more.
@OfficialBBrooks Getting over the track record hurdle for seed-stage emerging managers is a bear. Esp investing in B2B and enterprise tools (companies with longer dev time and sales cycles).
@alexrkonrad My preferred is both on the aisle, across from each other. Enough distance that you have your 'own' space, so you can talk or not talk without consequence. https://t.co/XToGNqeLjW
@galeforceVC Yes - 100%! Especially at the early stages, a good active investor should be there to help, strategically, without getting in the way. That means both knowing what you know and what you don’t know.
