We are so excited to be shortlisted as finalists for the Workforce Development Award 2024 @cypnow Awards.
We're gutted that we can't be there to celebrate all the good work we are involved in with you this evening.
But wishing everyone Good Luck.
We have designed a comprehensive consultation exercise to gather the views of stakeholders on the value and future of a National Youth Council, the Young Ambassador programme and the role of youth voice and influence in the political infrastructure, which will include a public survey, group discussions and interviews with key stakeholders.
As part of the consultation, we encourage you to support the young people you work with to conduct a youth-led focus group to gather views on the future of the UK’s National Youth Council.

It's vital to engage in these and up and coming consultations. We need to ensure that we do the very best we can to re-establish youth work in a system that can meet need and is fit for purpose
Following the announcement that the government is looking to co-create a National Youth Strategy with young people, the need to clearly map the state of the youth sector workforce and its capacity to respond to growing demand is urgent.
By completing this year’s 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗰𝗲 𝗦𝘂𝗿𝘃𝗲𝘆 you can help us inform the government, policy makers and funders of the investment, infrastructure and support needed to create a youth sector which is fit for purpose.

We were delighted to hear that our survey on young people's attitudes and experience of youth work caught the attention of LBC presenter James O'Brien.
His powerful recognition of the value of youth work stimulated a lively phone in with listeners describing the many ways that youth work enriches young people's lives.
Callers highlighted the various ways that the unique voluntary relationship of trust between youth worker and young people helps young people to feel a sense of belonging within their community and supports them to manage relationships and conflict. There's also a reference to opportunities which enable young people to develop their initiative, leadership and confidence.
Many thanks to @mrjamesob@LBC for highlighting the impact of youth work and the consequences of youth work funding cuts.

Congratulations to Tony Gallagher, Chair of the National Youth Sector Advisory Board, who has been awarded an OBE in recognition of his services to young people. Tony's expertise has been invaluable in shaping the Roadmap to a National Youth Strategy: https://t.co/s4Kl32ikUW
Massive congratulations to Tony for his OBE. Tony is one of youth works biggest advocates and a champion of quality youth work practice. For four years Tony has lead the National Youth Advisory Board to bring our sector together to talk to the powers that be with ONE clear voice.

It's not easy, but hang on to the fact that deep down, they do know you and they will always love you.
Take care of you too x
On the last day of Advent, I wanted to share what one young person told me about the importance of being empowered and having their voices heard by those in power.
