The ‘ledger stone’ unveiled on Sunday in St Thomas’ Church on Fifth Avenue is inscribed by the people of #York to the citizens of #NewYork.

It says New York stands as a ‘global symbol of liberty’ and adds: “This tablet is given to mark the centenary of the expression of friendship and goodwill between our two great cities.

“From your godparent in the United Kingdom, the ancient City of York.”

This would be huge. Private sector culture is one thing but you can't seriously look at other rail networks in Europe and say ours doesn't need fixing. Hopefully will boost economy East-West that was left behind when HS2 abandoned
