On 25th April we'll be running a free webinar.
We'll look at the recently published council tax / business rates figures, what they tell us about the state of local government finances and what can be done about it.
Hope you can make it :

Pleased to sponsor the @IRMSociety event in Cardiff last week, focussing on data and managing it effectively.
Info Management in #localgov should be an executive priority.
Big decisions need accurate, timely data.
Make sure you have it:

Looking at the accounts of Councils that went 'bankrupt', there are clear balance sheet trends which may have been missed in the past.
We've analysed these patterns and applied them to the latest accounts of all English authorities.
In 2022, councils in the UK were hit by 10,000 cyber-attacks a day.
Cyber criminals actively target local authorities. They see them as 'easier' to infiltrate.
What's your experience?

A fantastic turnout for the webinar on our 6 financial benchmarking models.
It's like a medical diagnosis of your finances- thorough, informed and based on facts. We even discussed OFLOG 🙂
Thank you to everyone who signed up.
Great to see people at the @ACCA_UK "Talking Local Government" session this morning.
@Surj_LGi covered the true meaning of financial data, grappling with I.T, controlling information and better decisions. Also had a pop at the word ' transformation'.
Our analysis of local government finances has been reported by @themjcouk.
Now more than ever, getting a real insight into this area is so important.
We've been dong this a long time so it's nice to get a mention! https://t.co/4sUGH05BFI
Of all the things councils call us for, information management is one area they find daunting.
But there’s a way to start to making information compliant, manageable & accessible, often saving thousands - in one fairly obvious move.
What that is? Clue: It’s NOT buying more IT.
In 9 days time, we'll provide early analysis of local authority across England and what they tell us about the months ahead.
Register for free, see you on the 15th. https://t.co/3oJcLgihcV
Just been through #localgov audits. In England, we are still at 20% of 21/22 audit opinions issued. Clearly Scotland does not share the same issues as all 32 local authority accounts have been finalised and in Wales 19 of 22 sets of 21/22 accounts are audited.
We're running a free webinar for an early look into Local Authority reserves (based on accounts published by 31st May this year).
There's been a lot of talk about reserves, let's get to the facts.
15th June 10am. Click on the link below to join us.

Council tax stats were released a few days ago.
Analysing them for our benchmarking models highlighted some very real funding challenges.
Authorities that have low "Band D" housing and/or a low taxbase aren't helped by the current funding system.
New research by @LG_improve has found that the local government funding system has “favoured” relatively prosperous areas over the past 13 years, which brings into question the government's levelling up agenda.

Local government orgs are realising they need to get their information structured, accurate and complaint.
We get the call when councils have tried the expensive consultants, technology and complex approaches - and failed. https://t.co/DaEtCKd0EY
