Just been through #localgov audits. In England, we are still at 20% of 21/22 audit opinions issued. Clearly Scotland does not share the same issues as all 32 local authority accounts have been finalised and in Wales 19 of 22 sets of 21/22 accounts are audited.
Our analysis shows that in England, spending power for district councils (£120.57 per head) has only just passed the 2011/12 level (£119.04 per head).
Is levelling up working for District Councils? https://t.co/9RiyocHuhZ
Council spending power over the last 2 years shows deprived areas getting a better deal
Looking at Local Authority settlements since 2011/12 (when funding formulae were last used). shows a very different picture. https://t.co/vejZlc9qHa
An actual quote from the support rep (bless you Erwin) when asked to speak to someone with more authority who could override 'the system" response - "You will hate me for saying, but in reality wouldn't change if anything hearing this from me or someone else." - love it!

#microsoft#flickergate continues. Out of warranty machine now with new battery bulging feature meaning the screen is coming away from the device... but it surely can't be a @Microsoft problem....

Oh we'll offer a bit of money off a newer model. Be warned, our sales side don't really know what our support side have offered so make sure you go through endless calls with people asking you the same thing and referring you back and forth.. But we won't do anything for free

Over on Linkedin I have shared my observations from my initial analysis of 305 #localgov statement of accounts.
1. Most authorities, but not all, met the 31 August accounts deadline.

Over on LinkedIn @danbates_LGi has analysed the recent #COVID19#localgov financial returns. For every additional £1 spent on the pandemic, councils have lost £1.59 in income. Long term financial support needed.
