Local Hepatitis Elimination & Prevention – Implementation Research project for micro-elimination of HBV & HCV

~300M persons are living with chronic hepatitis B infection globally. In the absence of treatment, one in four of them will die prematurely from liver failure or liver cancer.
Project #LHEAP screened 32895 people in the general population and vaccinated 17516 adults against HepB

We sincerely thank Rashid Bashir of Rajas UK for his generous donation of 176 PCR kits to LHEAP Program.
The donation will help with Viral Load testing for patients who otherwise could not afford to get tested.

We seek to ensure that HBV+ pregnant mothers in the community are registered and their babies receive Birth-dose regardless of the place of birth

The young girl, a case of vertical transmission of #HBV. With Viral Load of 85.9million IU/ml, she is still not eligible for treatment due to her age. She is one of the 3 siblings who have contracted HBV from their mother.

Our Frontline Hepatitis Elimination Worker (FHEW) brings the result of HCV viral load test to the patient at home. The same day patient is linked to treatment.
Early diagnosis and treatment eliminate the risk of hepatic complications including Cancer.

in last 2 months, Frontline Hepatitis Elimination Workers (FHEWs) have vaccinated over 12000 adults against Hepatitis B in their households.
Children are receiving Hep B vaccine through EPI program.
