I find Diane Abbott’s ‘Observer’ letter on racism much more reasonable than the reactionary behaviour of the leader of the Labour Party in removing the whip from her.
Diane Abbott – A JVL statement
Her suspension is a further attack on our freedom to debate important issues in @ukLabour. Her original letter was not antisemitic and the way some critics have rounded on her as if it were is cynical and unhelpful...

Is it true that black people suffer racism based on the colour of their skin in a way Irish, Jewish and Traveller people generally don't?
Yes.
Could Diane Abbott have worded her letter better?
Yes.
Are racists using "antisemitism" as a political weapon against Abbott?
Yes.
@jonlansman@HackneyAbbott Then why is there a hierarchy of racism in the Labour Party, as evidenced by the Forde Report? A white woman who ran against Labour gets back in, despite her remarks about “people with a funny tinge”, but Dianne gets excoriated for talking lived experiences of racism in UK today.
Guess now’s a good a time as any to ask why nobody’s noticed that a known ex-BNP member and one-time Regional Chair of the far-right Conservative Future - banned by the Tories for systematic bullying - is now a Comms Officer at Labour HQ
Today I sat on a stage with many wonderful comrades and listened to Jeremy Corbyn’s voice break when he thanked the crowd for their solidarity and support.
The demonisation of this man has been the biggest and most vile assault on a truly decent politician.
It ends now.
We are receiving reports that #LabourConference2022 delegates are having their passes accepted at the door, but rejected at the podium when it’s their turn to speak, therefore missing their slot while calling the helpline to get it fixed.

Dealing with a racist, in a unique way…
Here’s one option, but the burden of work should never be left to someone else in a minority ethnic group - racism in England is a WHITE people's problem and requires more work from White people to call out, call in, and NOT ignore.

Thérèse Coffey has launched a secret drive to kick thousands of disabled people off Universal Credit ahead of major cost of living crisis. It doesn't get much lower than that.
