What a difference an hour makes?! 6WJ started the morning with a mock SATs Reading assessment and then ended the morning playing silent bench ball. At least we managed to stay silent throughout the test... We can't quite say the same about the game but it was deserved fun :)
We have been actively involved in Safer Internet Day by taking part in the BBC Live Lesson. We also listened well during Mrs Nobel's assembly and have been discussing in class how to stay safe from phishing and other online scams so that we protect our identity.
In 6WJ, we have been designing our dream holidays to North America during computing lessons. We have been able to prove our vast range of organisational and presentational skills to advertise and provide key information about these impressive holidays.
As 6WJ’s class reward, we chose to ‘take over’ the learning, by teaching different lessons ourselves. Today we had a creative arts lesson where we made mini bedrooms followed by a Just Dance session. It’s been a really memorable and worthwhile experience. Well done all.
6WJ found our inspiring talk by Nigel Vardy really interesting. We learnt lots of facts and statistics which will help us to write balanced arguments as to whether people should be allowed to climb Mount Everest.
Lots of great USA homework is starting to arrive. Here is Texas, Louisiana and Oregon. There’s still time to complete yours - it’s due next Wednesday 15th.
@LJS6SH@NigelVardy 6WJ really benefited form this experience too. Well done to the Y6s for listening so carefully and for asking really thoughtful and insightful appropriate questions.
Well done to every member of 6WJ who showed what an incredible class we are in our work sharing assembly today. Although the theme of War was understandably sad, our assembly wasn't as we showed off our talents and had lots of fun too. Well done all!
The Year 6s had a fantastic immersive experience yesterday watching The Shakespeare Company’s incredible performance of Macbeth. Then this afternoon we spent our English lesson in our woods acting out the first scene involving Macbeth, Banquo and the witches.
Little Turbo, our class great African land snail, is progressing nicely. It made an appearance during our Mandarin lesson whilst munching on some grated carrot. 🐌
Thank you to all involved in our Remembrance Day tribute this morning. The pupils were very respectful and we have recited the poem “In Flanders Fields”.
Our class charter is coming along nicely. We all made suggestions for a theme, and this claw machine with toys as prizes was voted as the winning design. It’s great as everyone was able to contribute in their own way. 💙
We had a fantastic time learning about electricity with Mr Fehler at King Edwards this afternoon. It was a good hair day for the van der Graaf generator!
