Jeffery Simmons should've retired a Titan.
But the Titans suck. They've failed to field a competitive football team for YEARS. Wrong GMs, wrong coaches, a coach who should never have been fired, instability across the organization, and a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad team.
If the Titans want to return to competitive football, trading Simmons was a necessary move. The most successful (and quickest) rebuilds in the modern NFL have come with multiple extra first-round picks over a multi-year span. Look at the Lions after they traded Matthew Stafford as a prime example. Look at the Texans after trading Deshaun Watson.
The Titans got a haul. Two extra first round picks could really accelerate the turnaround this team has been chasing for 4 years.
But it sucks to see Jeffery Simmons go. He was the one stability through all the suck, the closest thing the Titans have had to a superstar player since Derrick Henry walked, and the one reliable player Titans fans could count on to show up every single week. It will be weird watching him play in Chicago, but he deserves to play for a legitimate contender.
By the time the Titans could even expect to be somewhat competitive, Simmons will be on the back nine of his career. The move makes sense for everyone involved.
Maybe one day the Titans will be good enough that their biggest stars can actually retire with the Titans. So it sucks today, but it's also awesome for the future trajectory of this franchise. Draft season just got a lot more fun.
The #Steelers are not in a good place with CB Joey Porter Jr., and their “no negotiating during the season” policy —which other teams think is silly — has now made the situation even worse.
A trade is definitely possible.
Here's how we got to this point with JPJ ⤵️
Good news: #Giants WR Malik Nabers, returning from a torn ACL, was a full participant in practice today — the team’s first official practice of the 2026 regular season, per HC John Harbaugh.
The Giants host the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday Night.
#Bucs DT Vita Vea says he told HC Todd Bowles that the day Bowles retires is the day he’ll also retire.
Vea made it clear last season’s collapse was on the players, not Bowles.
“He’s giving us all the answers to the test. It’s on us to execute.”
BREAKING: #Falcons pass-rusher Jalon Walker is feared to have suffered a torn ACL at practice today and will miss the entire 2026 season.
The No. 15 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft out of Georgia recorded 5.5 sacks, 2 forced fumbles, and a fumble recovery as a rookie last season.
@wyche89 and @RapSheet on the news.
Reporter: You were Offensive Player of the Year, won a Super Bowl, and are now the highest-paid WR. What’s next for you?
Jaxon Smith-Njigba: “The only thing better than one Super Bowl is two.” 🔥

Just in: The #Eagles are hiring former NFL QB Sean Mannion as their new offensive coordinator, per @AdamSchefter.
A rapid rise for Mannion, who has been in coaching for the last two years and spent last season with the Packers as their QBs coach. Now, he’s an OC.
Asked about analytics, #Titans HC Robert Saleh said it’s all information — and there’s more than ever now — but it’s still up to coaches to decide what’s best:
“The book doesn’t account for weather. It doesn’t account for whether or not Jeffrey Simmons is up against their third-string guard.”
From the ESPN report: Bill Polian was a vocal figure in the Hall of Fame deliberations involving Bill Belichick, with Spygate and Deflategate coming up among voters during discussions.
Per a voter who spoke anonymously, Polian — the former Bills and Colts GM and longtime Patriots rival — told some voters he believed Belichick should “wait a year” as penance for Spygate.
Quotes after playing the #Titans this yr:
Kayshon Boutte: Lazy CB/S play.
Raiders coach: Worst team we've seen in 25 yrs.
Pittman Jr: They didn't look like they wanted to play. No energy.
