If there's any silver lining to this horrible moment that we are in—the pandemic, the economic collapse, police brutality—it is that people are taking a hard look at the kind of society we want to become, and thinking about justice from top to bottom.
@keithboykin Let's take a moment and acknowledge the sacrifice of all the journalists out there entering into these plague conditions in order to be the watchdogs of the people. Not in a million years would you catch me attending an indoor Trump rally without an encapsulated hazmat suit.
@_ReaalAmerican_ ...we're not trying to reform, reorganize, we're trying to limit the scope of their job, and give somebody else the duties they're no longer responsible for. For example, social workers should deal with clearing homeless camps rather than police moving in and busting heads.
@_ReaalAmerican_ The idea behind defunding the police (which is backed up as effective by the data) is to take money from policing & put into other programs that address issues the police shouldn't be dealing with. Reform doesn't convey that.
@lauferlaw It's not helpful to pretend there's any merit to right-wing propaganda. The "antifa" as defined by repubs doesn't exist, and it only became their latest boogeyman as a wink & nod to white supremacists. Stop playing into their rhetoric.
