@AllenPGreenMD@CanesDavid@pgipe What is the standard of care? It would be helpful to understand in cases where it’s not obvious, why the you feel conflicted telling the patient you don’t feel comfortable referring for an invasive procedure. Symptoms and history are still relevant, no?
@avabluephoenix@K9Cognoscente@radfugee@keytojoshshead I get the feeling that once they see an unknown on a scan they don’t want to be the one to make the call. But I’m not sure why the standard of care suddenly changes. If the patient doesn’t have history or symptoms, why not advise just to watch?
@Earl6p@Blankt20@xereeto@kitten_beloved Because the ultra religious illiterate women in the country didn’t care that women in the urban centers were losing rights. They were already living in those conditions. Some resented those that weren’t. Completely different class and religious dynamics.
@Earl6p@Blankt20@xereeto@kitten_beloved The vast majority of the women were illiterate and still shitting in dirt holes in the countryside pre 90s takeover. Not comparable. But good luck with that.
@jasonryanmd@pingpdg My mindset is that I’m paying my doctor for his/her medical judgment and opinion. I would expect recommendations and explanations for those recommendations so I could make an informed decision. Isn’t that already part of the job?
@Earl6p@Blankt20@xereeto@kitten_beloved Not comparable circumstances to what OP is suggesting. In this made up scenario where every man in America suddenly decides they want to go sharia law on women, it wouldn’t happen without a lot of violence and women would fight to protect their lives.
@NotAnotherDarcy@Post40_ This is such a weird thing to say to dads taking care of their children. What if dad needs to use the restroom, how does he protect his kids? By leaving them in the hallway? The kids are much safer where dad can still see/hear them outside the stall.
@RadPirateship@avidseries This has been happening inside the Florida Cuban population for decades. Google Cuban healthcare fraud. A lot of reporting in the past couple decades and yet it’s still a major problem down here. You just haven’t paid attention.
@LandBeforeSlime@Thisiswhyidrin1@AdsoOfBelk Conversely, I don’t find walking around my neighborhood enjoyable. It’s boring. I wish I lived in a walkable city because think I would actually enjoy running errands if I could walk a short distance to do them. Driving is such a process and a chore to me.
@arjuNation_@Kristyinblueash@NYCMayor My mom and dad made a rule that I don’t have to pay taxes but the government overruled them 😔. I wish someone had taught me that the government could do that when I was a kid.
@Kristyinblueash@NYCMayor Kristy, what do you think the government does? Yes, it has the power to create laws that overrides individual behavior. Your kids should know that. It’s why you can’t send your kids to work in the mines or sell them to strangers. See also School House Rock for more info.
@Funfriend00@LW1307@BradThundercocl@Ankara_inc Yeah I don’t get it. The whole point of marriage is you are now a family. It’s a joint venture. Income made after marriage should go in the community pool.
@DaleBetterton@flashgo21@Ouponatime38@Appyg99 For prediction about completion of med school, probably, but that’s not the hypothetical we were provided. Also the statistical significance of a couple points might be outweigh by other markers that make you more likely to fail in the long run as a doctor.
