Did some math this morning that kind of shook me.

When my daughter coming in November turns 18, I’ll be 62. When I’m 70, she’ll only be 26. If I’m blessed enough to make it to 80, she’ll be 36. 😳

I had my grandpa in my life into my 40s. My dad isn’t even 70 yet.

Having a kid this late in life already changes your perspective, but realizing 70 is now less than 30 years away really hit me. That doesn’t feel like a huge amount of time anymore, especially with how fast the last 20 went.

And that’s assuming I’m lucky enough to get all of those years.

@longinvest32 I know a guy who makes over $100k/year, moving small furniture in his sprinter van and hanging picture frames on the wall. It’s amazing. People tip him too, it’s mind blowing coming from a background of doing it all myself.

Made an absolute smoke show in the kitchen cooking these thin round cuts. Finished them with a butter soak and Parm on top. But the roasted squash stole the show, and the cabbage was excellent too.

I usually try to spin two meals out of these, but the discount meat selection was tough today.

1.26 lbs thin-cut round steak, half off at $3.14, with butternut squash from the pumpkin patch (decorated by me in a fit of boredom), cabbage & onion.
