I am absolutely convinced that if the public and Ministers @CarrollJennifer @NormaFoleyTD1 and @1Hildegarde had visibility on how many children are actually being seen on a daily basis by public health teams in our children’s disability network teams (CDNT’s) and primary care we would finally see a massive reduction in waiting times for children and families because what I’m hearing and seeing is just ridiculous in terms of capacity.
It’s time a prime time investigates journalist walked through these buildings to see how invisible children are. It’s the biggest con job. Early intervention just doesn’t exist and the deceit and dishonesty and buck passing has to end.
When previous Minister @AnneRabbitte went looking for the data, the facts and the figures on these questions she was obstructed at every turn.

I must have spoken to well over 100 headteachers across the country recently and they're all saying the same things:

Many, many more pupils with complex SEND needs.
More challenging behaviour and at a younger age.
Too little specialist provision.
Frustrated families.
Social Services bar too high.
Public services skint and burnt out staff.
No real Ofsted reform.
Falling birth rates.
People are angry.
Communities in despair.
Funding that’s nowhere near enough.

Schools are holding the system together but it’s becoming unsustainable - they can't keep asking more and more of staff, with less and less. Something has to give.

Without urgent reform and real investment, I'm worried that this could be the year we've all known was coming and education finally breaks.

@GarNob Already feeling effects in schools. SNAs for kids with care needs only. Social/emotional not included. Kids who had SNA support now dont and are lost in classrooms. They are all cured now
