Hi Everyone,
My lab is recruiting a postdoc. If you are interested in testis organiod generation, sperm chromatin, or paternal contribution to embryogenesis please email me! Please R/T.
For 8 weeks, 40 hours per week, students get 15 per hour, a housing stipend, a food stipend, and if needed, computer assistance. Yes, they can do this program where ever they are as it is a virtual program. Please share broadly!
This thread's an interesting and thoughtful read but assuming that people have a choice in where to go to grad school assumes privilege, which does harken back to the point that you shouldn't have to live in the MOST EXPENSIVE PLACES IN THE US to be trained. #poorinacademia
@jewinthecity My grandparents ran a farm stay and inns in NY and VT in the 1950s. They were listed in one of these books and were delighted to have the guests.
Shout out to Maria in the @AmericanAir in the customer service center at DFW terminal C. She was at getting me rebooked and helping me navigate an unfamiliar airport!
Hey #AcademicChatter
Does anyone have any suggestions/experience with getting accommodations for their disabilities for graduate TA responsibilities that their willing to share? Specifically surrounding invisible disabilities? DMs are open!

Ok so you’ve recapitulated the 15 million year history of a protein from molecular to biophysical change. But HAVE YOU assembled a pop up castle on the first try? (The answer is no, it’s never been done). Summary of the instructions: put it together it looks like this.
#PoorInAcademia thank you @sabrinastronomy for telling your story. Despite wanting diversity the system still assumes that you have financial stability if you make it through the gates.
i think a lot about how people in academia shamed me for taking a summer off to do an internship in tech which paid 3x my yearly salary as a physics graduate student. they figured i was leaving for industry already or was not interested enough in my field of astrophysics.

Everyone is sharing this #PLOSCompBio article but allow me to jump on the bandwagon. It really isn't that hard to support students in STEM from diverse backgrounds. #PoorInAcademia
