When you get your bill at the end of the month, you should know someone fought for you before you gotta waste time calling the energy company yourself.
@BlackmanDNA's running for Public Service Commission to negotiate on behalf of Georgians, not Georgia Power. Vote. 1/5/20.
Why does the PUC -- and Judge Alsup -- still allow PG&E to behave like this?

This was a well done documentary about how big utility companies don’t have the well-being of its customers in mind. It is up to us to fight for our health and the health of our children. Jonathan Scott’s Power Trip https://t.co/ja6CECITE0
PG&E says -- don't blame us -- we didn't order the line kept on -- but you didn't order the line to shut off after your own equipment warned you of problems!

CA is entitled to answers: Why won't ISO detail how its convergence market hurt grid reliability? Why did that market restart on 8/22 & did it also cause the problems over Labor Day? Why does ISO allow energy traders to export power OUT of CAISO on peak demand summer days at all?
JUST POSTED: Climate change, poor planning and complex market mechanisms created a perfect storm that caused California’s rolling blackouts in August, state officials said in a new analysis Tuesday: https://t.co/QmoEaAFHts
High heat does not always equal high electric demand -- especially in August when offices, factories, theaters, restaurants, etc. were all closed. Demand on 8/14 was at 46,800MW when the ISO called blackouts -- not at all historic demand. Why couldn't the ISO keep the lights on?
"Some practices in the day-ahead energy market exacerbated the supply challenges under highly stressed conditions. " WHY did the ISO allow those practices that caused blackouts?
@dakasler MANY unanswered questions that CA deserves answers to. Why did the plants required to provide power not do so? Why did the ISO allow exports OUT of CA right up until they called for blackouts? How did the convergence market affect reliability so bad that the ISO suspended it?
What a backstory for Newsom's new state Supreme Court nominee Martin Jenkins:
-Grew up in SF's Ingleside
-Dad was clerk/janitor in Coit Tower
-Played briefly for the Seahawks
-Ex-prosecutor & DOJ civil rights lawyer
-Now would be first openly gay justice https://t.co/h9Z7UUjZvc
Talked to @PatThurston@KGO810 this afternoon about how the ISO -- and PG&E -- are threatening to -- and blacking out Californians -- because neither can run their systems competently. Hold them both accountable for their actions!

And note that diesel generators are an extra fire hazard -- not like solar + battery generators. Why are Californians paying to be less safe and less clean?
News: Another fleet of massive diesel generators could be installed in Silicon Valley, this set less than 2 miles from an elementary school.
All while Bay Area Air Quality has asked cities to go "diesel-free by 2033" due to "tremendous toll on health."
Story this Friday.
When temps rise, our energy usage should stay low.
It’s critical that we all do our part now to avoid power outages.
Keep the thermostat at 78° and avoid major appliance use from 3-9 pm.

CA bought plenty of power for all of 2020 -- but it wasn't called or it didn't run. We can overbuild and over buy - - but if the ISO won't call for the power WE ALREADY BOUGHT or if those owners don't deliver the power when we need it - what good is overbuilding and overbuying?
@FordneyEnergy And CA's grid is run by a private corporation that does not have to follow all of CA's transparency or financial conflicts rules. CA deserves to know what plants are down on hot days -- and why!
@DanDjsacramento And it would help with schools' electricity bills! A win-win. After the last energy crisis, I tried to institute a special reduced rate for schools to go with roof-top solar. Still needed -- especially now with batteries!
