Un alto ufficiale militare israeliano ha ora dichiarato a *Haaretz* che, quando l’offerta di Hamas è giunta all’esercito, è stata ignorata: «Ad essere onesti, la questione degli ostaggi non era ancora all’ordine del giorno in quella fase, e nessuno, né a livello militare né politico, era disposto a discutere la proposta».

L’ex ministro degli Esteri americano Antony Blinken è stato informato direttamente dell’offerta di Hamas e l’ha respinta a sua volta. «Israele è ancora sotto attacco e non c’è nessuno con cui parlare», ha detto al primo ministro del Qatar. Si tratta dello stesso Blinken che di lì a poco avrebbe affermato che, se Hamas avesse liberato gli ostaggi, «tutto questo potrebbe finire domani».
