For generations, the child welfare system harmed and traumatized Inuit children. Today is a turning point.
We just signed an agreement restoring the inherent right of Inuit families to care for their children — a right that should have never been taken away in the first place.
This is just dumb. Pierre Poilievre’s latest histrionics are now targeted at Canada’s widely respected Supreme Court, which according to him is no more than a “government bureaucracy” preventing him from peddling his nonsense. Dumb.
Earlier this week, Michelle and I called our friend @KamalaHarris. We told her we think she’ll make a fantastic President of the United States, and that she has our full support. At this critical moment for our country, we’re going to do everything we can to make sure she wins in November. We hope you’ll join us.
Wonderful to welcome the Prime Minister to Kitchener-Conestoga to hear from folks.
I’m proud to live in a country where our leader walks with me through neighbourhoods, knocks on doors & hears what’s important to Canadians—from Canadians.
Thanks for visiting, @JustinTrudeau!

Today, at the @AFN_Updates’ Annual General Meeting, I reaffirmed our government’s commitment to reconciliation and advancing self-determination for First Nations communities across the country.
This is a blatant act of Islamophobia on our streets. There needs to be an investigation and there needs to be justice. Racism and hateful speech have no place in Canada. This must stop.
