Proud to announce the launch of our DVN Seniors’ Guide. In it, you’ll find information on income support programs, healthcare, safety, transportation, and so much more to help support our seniors. A copy will be mailed to every home in DVN, so keep an eye on your mailboxes!
Nearly 300 seniors joined us for our first annual Seniors’ Tea to celebrate Seniors’ Month. It was a pleasure to recognize the contributions of the seniors who help make Don Valley North such a strong and caring community. Happy Seniors’ Month!
Today, we remember Our London Family.
We honour the lives of Salman Afzaal, Madiha Salman, Talat Afzaal, and Yumna Afzaal, who were killed in an act of Islamophobic hate. We stand with the survivor, their family, and Muslim communities in London, across Ontario, and beyond.
Their memory is our responsibility.
At a time when Islamophobia is on the rise, we must confront it clearly, consistently, and together. Hate has no place in London, no place in Ontario, and no place anywhere in our communities. It has been 5 years since the tradegy and there has been little movement by the Ontario government to take measures to implement the Our London Family Act. We call on the government to stand with the community and push for measures to make Ontario a safer place for Muslims to live.
Today, tomorrow, and always, we stand with the Muslim community.
For too long, Doug Ford has neglected the people of Scarborough.
Scarborough deserves a leader who will fight for better healthcare, education, transit, housing, and a more affordable future.
I am ready to fight for Scarborough Southwest, and I will deliver for you.
Eid Mubarak to everyone celebrating Eid al-Adha in Ontario and around the world.
May this holiday bring peace, blessings, and time with loved ones and community.
Ontarians are pretty “ticked off” too, @fordnation. You’ve wasted our money for 8 long years. This isn’t a one off.
- $100 billion tunnel
- $500M parking lot next to a private spa
- $1 billion to get booze into corner stores a year early
- 100s of millions on propaganda ads
Just to name a few… #onpoli
The energy in Scarborough–Southwest today was incredible.
Thousands of volunteers, supporters, and community members came together as Ahsanul Hafiz was officially nominated as the Ontario Liberal candidate for the upcoming by-election.
After nearly eight years of Doug Ford and the PCs, people are tired of being ignored by an out-of-touch government and are ready for someone who will show up, listen, and fight for their community.
Now, we get to work.
This week, our caucus was in Brampton celebrating Vaisakhi with members of the Sikh community from across Peel Region.
Vaisakhi marks the harvest, the new year, and the birth of the Khalsa — a time to reflect on faith, service, and community.
As Sikh Heritage Month comes to a close, we’re grateful for the opportunity to celebrate together, and for the leadership, generosity, and strong sense of community the Sikh community brings to Ontario every day.
Doug Ford’s Solicitor General likes to talk a big game about supporting police. But when push comes to shove, he not even listening to @TorontoPolice . No wonder crime is out of control under his watch.
I had to remind the Solicitor General what his job is: keeping criminals in jail. His government lost 150 prisoners and still, no one is being held accountable.
Doug Ford just called night sittings so he can ram through the end of Freedom of Information while Ontarians sleep — with debate set to run until midnight.
Buried in the budget are the most sweeping FOI changes in a generation — a direct hit to transparency and accountability.
FOI is how we exposed the Greenbelt, the Skills Development Fund, the 150 criminals this government let out by mistake, the Ontario Place spa, the Science Centre closure, and $100M+ in government ad spending. It’s how we’d find out more about the private jet.
This bill was supposed to go to committee for public hearings, detailed review, and amendments. At the last second, they ripped it out and are now pushing it through under the cover of darkness.
If you need to ram through a bill like this, you know you’re doing something you’re not proud of. Something you want to hide.
And like the decision to buy a private jet, his entire cabinet — 28 ministers — is backing it.
That’s it. Enough is enough. Doug Ford is undoing democracy, and we can’t let him.
Stand up. Raise your voice. Fight for your rights.
Call your MPP now and tell them to protect your right to know.

WATCH: The Ford government's solicitor general and associate solicitor general apologize to MPPs for repeatedly and incorrectly telling them wrongly released inmates are immediately reapprehended #OnPoli
"Negligence or incompetence?"
The Ford faced criticism after Global News revealed provincial jails have accidentally released 150 inmates since 2021
It's an issue the Solicitor Generals office has been well briefed on.

More teachers are getting fired everyday, and this time, it’s 18 in Brampton and 8 in Mississauga.
At a time when class sizes are growing and special education is being starved, why is @PaulCalandra firing the teachers who are qualified to help?
Make it make sense.

The disastrous Doug Ford Conservative gov't delivered a budget that only pretends to protect ONT.
Today's budget shows a deteriorating outlook for ONT relative to their last.
Everything that should be up is DOWN, incl: GDP growth, job creation, housing starts, & more.

Today I tabled a stack of #FIXOSAPASAP petitions calling on the Ontario government to reverse its changes to #OSAP immediately.
I want to thank the thousands of students, families, and allies from across the province who took the time to sign the petition, collect signatures, and make their voices heard! #onpoli
