$LASE..what's going on here..🧐
Defense Milestone, Insider Buying, and Multi-Vertical Growth.
Laser Photonics achieved a key defense milestone: its Laser Shield Anti-Drone (LSAD) system was selected by the Department of War as a top submission in the Counter C5ISR-T category under the MEIA Vulcan Call for Solutions.
CEO Wayne Tupuola stated: "This selection by the Department of War validates the mission relevance and readiness of our LSAD directed-energy technology..."
This advances LASE into an exclusive technical exchange with government engineers, positioning the company for potential prototyping and future contracts.
Insider Buying:
Director Qing Lu purchased 32,000 shares in open-market transactions between April 25–29, 2026, at $0.61–$0.65 per share, confirmed by SEC Form 4 filings.
Medical Diversification
On May 28, 2026, LASE's subsidiary CMS Laser secured a $250,000 order from Johnson & Johnson for a custom laser drilling system with integrated vision, validating entry into precision medical device manufacturing.
Market Opportunity
The global anti-drone market is valued at ~$2.9–3.3B in 2025, with CAGR estimates of 13–27%.
The counter-UAS segment is accelerating due to rising drone threats in defense and critical infrastructure.
Valuation & Risks
LASE trades at ~$80M market cap. Upside exists if defense contracts materialize, but risks include liquidity volatility, potential dilution, and execution uncertainty.
Bottom Line
Defense selection + insider buying + J&J order are credible catalysts.
No DoD contract is confirmed yet, the J&J order is modest ($250K), and micro-cap risks remain.

$LIDR and SynTech, Apollo lidar steps into defense.
$LIDR announced a commercial relationship with SynTech to distribute and integrate the Apollo $lidar across defense applications internationally. The detail that actually matters in the release: SynTech has already started shipping Apollo units to a leading defense prime. Product is moving, not just a planning headline.
The Apollo spec sheet, the part defense buyers care about.1550 nm laser.
Eye safe at higher power, which is what lets you push range without the thermal and ocular limits 905 nm sensors hit.
Detection up to 1 km. 325 m at 10 percent reflectivity (the harder, real-world number).
Up to 6.2 million points per second. 120 by 30 degree field of view. Resolution as fine as 0.025 degrees inside a region of interest. Palm-sized form factor.
Software defined, so the same hardware can be reconfigured for different mission profiles in days, not weeks.
Why these specs map to defense.
Counter-UAS, drone autonomy, perimeter and base security, ground robotics, and ISR all need long range, high resolution depth at low SWaP.
A 1 km detection envelope in a smartphone-sized sensor is the wedge. Apollo also already meets $NVDA DRIVE AGX Orin and Thor specs, which is the same compute stack a lot of next-gen autonomous defense platforms are building on.
What was not disclosed.
SynTech is not a household defense name in public filings. The actual prime receiving Apollo units was not identified. No order size. No contract term. No revenue contribution.
$LIDR framed this as a strategic commercial relationship, not a multi-year program of record. So the upside here is optional, not modelable, until quantified.
Financial frame around the news.
Q4 2025 revenue 97k, up 110.9 percent YoY and 94 percent QoQ.
Full year 2025 revenue around 230k, up 15 percent YoY. GAAP Q4 net loss 7.3M, EPS -0.17, beat consensus by 0.03.
Cash, equivalents and marketable securities ended 2025 at 86.5M.
2026 cash burn guided 30 to 35M.
Runway into 2028.
Active revenue-generating customers grew 12 to 16 in one quarter, up 33 percent.
Apollo manufacturing scaling through LITEON, capital-light model.
Market context. $LIDR closed at 2.19 on April 24. Market cap roughly 99M. Craig-Hallum has a Buy with a 3.50 price target. Beta around 2.0 to 2.8. Up about 167 percent over the past year off a low base.
The honest read on this announcement.
The technology is real and differentiated. The financials are still rounding error.
Defense exposure adds validation and optionality, but this single press release does not change the financial model.
The thesis stays the same: can Apollo convert pilots, partner shipments, and now defense engagements into production programs across automotive, smart infrastructure, and defense before cash runs?
Balance sheet buys the time. Execution has to follow.

$LIDR is the smallest lidar stock sitting at $16M market cap. The theme appears to be catching on so I'm in for a trade.
It spiked over $4 at the start of this year from a similar level. Perhaps we get a similar move in coming weeks
