If you support peace and oppose all non-defensive violence (e.g. murder, rape, slavery, etc.), retweet this, and I will follow you. ๐
I am always happy to be connected with fellow peace lovers.
@patrickoyulu Mzee is a visionary he is looking at Uganda 100+ years ahead, that's why what he's saying may sound like madness or noise to some now but a very real and inevitable eventuality in the future. I see his reasoning and applaud it actually.
When Africa does better, African-Americans do better, and vice versa. White supremacists in Western intelligence services are well aware of this fact, which is why they try so hard to keep Africans and the diaspora divided with online trolling, negative images, and stereotypes of each other, while the enemy continues to exploit, subjugate, and wage war on both marginalized groups.
Pope with a โNo Problemโ Bag.
Todate, that image of @Pontifex boarding his plane at Entebbe Airport in 2015 -with a humble black leather bag in hand -still lives rent-free in my memory. Ugandans saw it, paused, and some -like me, remembered the 'No Problem' Bag.
Now, if you're Ugandan, you know what I mean. The 'No Problem' Bag is that small leather briefcase, usually black or brown, occasionally shiny, often tired, but eternally faithful. It carried civil servantsโ dreams, pay slips, circulars, prayer books, and the occasional Newspaper. My late brother Francis Oyulu had one, proudly. My father too -his was always stuffed with handwritten notes, rosary beads, and Bic pens. It was the bag of the people.
And so when His Holiness, Papa Francisco, strolled up those aircraft stairs holding one, Ugandans didnโt see just a Pope -we saw an 'omuntu wa wansi.' A Pope who understood. A Pope with no problem. At all.
No problem riding in a humble Toyota or KIA. Because of Pope Francis, there was no problem for @KagutaMuseveni greeting @kizzabesigye1 at Namugongo Catholic Shrine when he arrived. There was No problem seeing Besigye chatting with @AmamaMbabazi who -himself. was a presidential candidate too. And later, the Pope had no problem kneeling down to kiss the feet of South Sudan's President Salva Kiir. (Now, Rayisi Salva... that gesture still waits for your chapter on peace in #SouthSudan )
This #Pope had no problem with the poor. No problem with atheists, migrants, or the LGBTQ+. Asked once about gay people, he shrugged with divine simplicity, โWho am I to judge?โ
Here was a man who reminded us that religion should never be weaponized. That decency and empathy must transcend doctrine. That faith, stripped of power and pride, is still faith.
He was a bouncer once, yes -a kanyama with catechism. But he didnโt knock people down. He lifted the broken.
So yes, today we mourn. But we also remember.
A Holy Father who carried the weight of the world in a 'No Problem' Bag. A shepherd who walked lightly, but left heavy footprints of hope.
Sleep well, Papa. No problem at all.

POPE'S WILL: A SIMPLE BURIAL
In his last will and testament, Pope Francis expressed his wish for a simple burial.ย
"Feeling that the sunset of my earthly life is approaching and with lively hope in Eternal Life, I wish to express my testamentary will only with regard to the place of my burial. I have always entrusted my life and my priestly and episcopal ministry to the Mother of Our Lord, Mary Most Holy. Therefore, I ask that my mortal remains rest awaiting the day of resurrection in the Papal Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore. I wish that my last earthly journey conclude precisely in this ancient Marian sanctuary where I went for prayer at the beginning and end of each Apostolic Journey.
The tomb must be in the earth; simple, without particular decoration and with the only inscription: Franciscus." -#Pope Francis, in a document, dated June 29. 2022 released by the Vatican after his death.
Unlike other popes, #PopeFrancis did not request any mention of his papacy in the inscription.
