WHAT?!
I don't think there has been any bigger trouble during crewed spaceflight than this since STS-107. This is still a shocking news to hear, even when it was somewhat expected.
I hope the two crew of the mission stay safe and sound during their unexpectedly extended mission.
NASA will return @BoeingSpace's #Starliner to Earth without @NASA_Astronauts Butch Wilmore and Suni Williams aboard the spacecraft.
The uncrewed return allows NASA and Boeing to continue gathering testing data on Starliner during its upcoming flight home, while also not accepting more risk than necessary for its crew.
Wilmore and Williams will continue their work formally as part of the Expedition 71/72 crew through February 2025. They will fly home aboard a Dragon spacecraft with two other crew members assigned to the agency’s SpaceX #Crew9 mission.
Starliner is expected to depart from the @Space_Station and make a safe, controlled autonomous re-entry and landing in early September.

LIFTOFF! 🚀✨ For the first time aboard @BoeingSpace’s #Starliner spacecraft atop a @ulalaunch Atlas V, @NASA_Astronauts Butch Wilmore and Suni Williams are on their way to the space station following a successful launch at 10:52am ET. Docking is set for 12:15pm Thursday, June 6.
It really looks like the name "Stayliner" fits the capsule more than "Starliner", considering how many launch scrubs there were.
But seriously, every scrub is highlighting the problem with Boeing's current status. I hope they could find out what's wrong before it's too late...
@ulalaunch@BoeingSpace Update: Teams have scrubbed today’s launch attempt for @BoeingSpace’s #Starliner Crew Flight Test due to an automatic hold of the ground launch sequencer. Tune in for updates: https://t.co/rVDAb6CRVD
@airkatakana Did you see the mentioned "follow-up post", uploaded ~4 hours ago?
The post basically reads "everything is not true, the details were 'well explained' to the labor committee", without almost none of the details actually given.
Do you have any comments about this?
Unacceptable things are happening in my unversity, it seems like. This definitely needs attention and thorough investigation!
I sincerely hope the whistleblower does not gets one's safety or anything else threatened.
kaist @kaistpr professor jinjoon "vendetta" lee @jinjoon_lee forced me to send a fairly large sum of money to his wife's bank account, under threat of withdrawing an offer to be a postdoc in his lab. university leadership such as president kwang hyung lee did nothing about this

@FrameworkPuter Computers should be dependable - not only its hardware but also its software.
Not being robbed or being forced to have certain functions & designs; not being locked into a certain OS.
In that sense, any laptop w/ official Linux support is such a lifesaver. Keep up the good work!
So... Aurora forecast: https://t.co/VfGSJJzr0l
Looking at the graph, it shows predicted G5 levels around 0900-1200 UTC, which would be 5:00 am EST, or 3:00 PST. Still a chance to see something tonight, but... it'll be quite early in the morning.

Today, Boom announced the successful flight of XB-1, the world's first independently developed supersonic jet, at the Mojave Air & Space Port in Mojave, California. Flown by Chief Test Pilot Bill "Doc" Shoemaker, XB-1's inaugural flight marks a major milestone toward the return of supersonic travel onboard Overture - Boom's supersonic airliner. The XB-1 program provides the foundation for the design and development of Overture, while establishing a safety-first culture in engineering and manufacturing.
"Today, XB-1 took flight in the same hallowed airspace where the Bell X-1 first broke the sound barrier in 1947." said Blake Scholl, founder and CEO of Boom Supersonic. "I've been looking forward to this flight since founding Boom in 2014, and it marks the most significant milestone yet on our path to bring supersonic travel to passengers worldwide."
