🌈 Multiple long-term term conditions (MLTC or multimobidity) is growing fast worldwide.
But its impact isn’t the same for everyone.
📚 We systematically reviewed 792 studies to examine Sociodemographic intersections
Unfortunately, only 4 studies met the criteria—and none were longitudinal.
⏳A major lack of intersectionality-informed, longitudinal MLTC research.
Without it, we can’t understand how inequalities unfold across the life course—or design solutions that truly work.

📈 What happens after prediabetes (intermediate hyperglycaemia) ?
Our paper led by @frazac and Suping
Using data from 328k adults in England, we mapped trajectories to type 2 diabetes, cancer, and death.
👵🏽 Older adults had the highest cancer rates, while developing T2D only slightly increased cancer risk.
⏳ 10 years after diagnosis, most younger adults stayed in the prediabetes state, whereas older adults had higher risks of progression or death.
🔍 BMI, smoking, ethnicity & deprivation shaped these pathways too.
🎯 Prevention and early detection of T2D & cancer must be tailored to age at prediabetes diagnosis—one size doesn’t fit all.
