Please sign the Stop The Excuses petition. This is about stopping any government from taking away citizen’s rights. We know that this is undemocratic. Please help me take action to stop this.

@Chehr7@LukaszukAB Education has been lacking due to all the cuts for years. Listen to the students. They don’t want to go back unless class sizes are addressed.
My UCP gov't wants the same things as our wealthy donors.
Our offer:
More funds to charter schools
Unrestricted class sizes
No negotiation
This strike could be over but I refuse to negotiate with unions. Back-to-work legislation will force them back into overcrowded classrooms.
UCP to teachers: Here is an offer
Teachers: No, that does not address our concerns
UCP: Here is the same offer again
Teachers: We already said no.
UCP:
Teachers: Here is a detailed plan for what we need. Thoughts?
UCP:
UCP:
UCP: We’ve been fair and collaborative!
Read the whole thread. This is important for everyone to understand. If UCP does this to teachers, in the largest strike ever in Alberta, affecting at least a million people, they can—and will—do this to ANY other group whose charter rights they want to remove.
As Danielle Smith prepares to use the Notwithstanding clause against Alberta teachers, I’m going to repost this thread. Peter Lougheed, one of the authors of the clause, said it NEVER should be used the way Smith is intending to use it. Brian Mulroney agreed. #NoQueens

🍎 On World Teacher’s Day, we celebrate all who share wisdom — in schools & in life. Dr. Maya Angelou echoed her mother’s lesson:
✨ “Be intolerant of ignorance but understanding of illiteracy…”
