Free speech is under attack on university campuses across the country.
We want to change that.
The Free Speech Union administers the Ian Mactaggart Programme, which helps young people — especially students — promote and defend free speech.
While we are witnessing a toxic culture of censorship on campus, with students ostracised or hounded out for holding and expressing lawful beliefs, there is also a growing determination to keep open debate alive.
The programme supports more than 16 societies across the UK, as well as groups that have launched podcasts and organised conferences.
FSU Education Officer Vinay Kapoor has been travelling across the country to meet students who are standing up for free speech on campus.

Since the 1980s, the Sahara has shrunk by roughly 8%. Satellite data show widespread greening, a pattern that is playing out across the planet.
Around 50% of Earth's vegetated land has become significantly greener, an area roughly three times the size of the United States.
The dominant driver is not rainfall or land use change, it is rising atmospheric CO2.
Higher CO2 lets plants photosynthesize more efficiently, they lose less water, they tolerate heat and dryness better.
The effect is strongest along desert margins, across the Sahel, the Middle East, Australia's interior and the southern edge of the Sahara.
Rising CO2 is making the deserts, and the planet as a whole, greener.

Tucker Carlson notes that the same global elites who spent decades vilifying fossil fuels as the cause of catastrophic global warming now call for a pause on climate concerns to meet the growing power demands of the AI era.
Anyone who believes in man-made climate change needs to take a long hard look at themselves.
Here are the basic facts:
- 0.04% of the atmosphere is carbon dioxide. Once we drop below 0.02% plants will start dying.
- Of that 0.04%, 97% of that is made up of natural emissions (gas released from tectonic shifts, historic volcanic, eruptions etc)
- 3% of that 0.04% is made up of human contribution.
- Of that 3% of 0.04% Britain contributes 1%.
The man-made climate change narrative is nothing more than a control mechanism by technocratic globalist elites.
"The International Panel on Climate Change has essentially just admitted that all the climate scare stories of the past 20 years are junk. Turns out, the alarmist forecasts that led to mass climate psychosis are 'implausible'."

You want to know the most efficient land use in Britain?
Not almonds. (You can't grow almonds here. The climate would make them feel personally attacked.)
Not avocados. (Laughable.)
Not quinoa. (We tried. It's fine. It's not fine.)
Grass. Which grows on the 65% of British agricultural land that cannot support arable crops. Which feeds ruminants. Which converts that grass into complete protein, saturated fat, and fat-soluble vitamins through a digestive system that has been running without modification for forty million years.
The cow is not a problem to be solved.
The cow is the solution that was already here.
The satellites don't lie. The planet is greener today than it was 20 years ago.
This was confirmed by the latest satellite studies of shifts in vegetation by NASA and ESA (European Space Agency). The greening trend is continuing and widening, and 70% is attributed to higher CO2. We're seeing new greening hotspots in India, China and even the Arctic as growing seasons lengthen.
If CO2 is 'pollution' why is Earth's total leaf area expanding? The new green abundance is planet wide. Earth's natural systems are managing the planet far better than by any UN bureaucracy.
Atmospheric CO2 is not the 'climate control knob they claim. It's a trace gas at only 0.042% of the air. The gradual increase in CO2 over many decades has increased global greening. It's time to recognise that CO2 is plant food, not a toxic byproduct.
🤦🏼♀️I’m angry I was taught a lie at university. Let me make something very clear….It’s normal for the climate to change, it has always changed throughout earth’s history. By looking at this graph of temperature reconstructions over the past few hundred thousand years you can see that we naturally go in and out of ice ages, every 100,000 years in fact like clockwork, this is due to primarily Milankovitch cycles.
