🗨️ Dr. @SingoeiAKorir, Kenya's Principal Secretary for the State Department of Foreign Affairs, lauds #IGAD Heads of State for their decision to endorse the creation of a regional #climate #security coordination mechanism, a first in the world. The initiative, in collaboration with the United Nations' Office of the Special Envoy of the Secretary-General for the #HornofAfrica, aims at assessing #climate risks to #peace and #security, coordinating solutions to manage them and channeling #finance to the most fragile and #climate vulnerable parts of the region. Dr. Sing'Oei made the remarks at a high-level event held during #UNGA78 ahead of #COP28 in #UAE later this year.
