Absolutely beyond blessed!
I still can’t believe it, it’s been a long season but this makes it all worth it. There were have been a lot of ups and downs, but the tallest mountains have the deepest valleys and with his antlers in my hands, I feel like I’m on top of Everest.
LT Tip: when hanging hanger stands, set up a ladder stand and set a climbing screw and set the hanger on that. Then ratchet the hanger, set your spikes, and take down the ladder.
Safest and easiest to hang one.
Great weekend with the boys and got my first archery kill! Huge thanks to the Hultines for letting me hunt their land!! @AngusLaif@jt_cafferty@LTArchery
LT Tip:
Blood types:
- Heart shot: light red and thin
- Lung shot: very light red, almost pink with bubbles in it
- Muscle shot: Crimson red and thick
- Gut shot: Stomach fluid, foul smelling, waste material
LT Tip:
If you use a hot doe call to get a buck within range and need to stop him in order to shoot, always remember to do a “meh” doe bleat and never a grunt. A grunt is unexpected and startling to the buck in this situation.
New #LTProspect Sam Wibbels!
Sam showed great passion and intensity to learn!
He is now accurate up to 40 yards!
Him and @mikeboeve05 might have to have a shoot off
@swibbels@UKBaseball
Laif set up between two scrapes that he thought were made by the buck below. He came in down wind from him and stood at 30 yards! Sadly, there was no shooting lane where the buck was and no shot. The buck caught a wiff of human and skirted out. 3 more steps and he was toast!
Great weekend at the cabin! Saw quite a few deer and took @swibbels hunting for the first time! Shane smoked a doe with his crossbow and Laif pounded his first ever turkey with a bow! Unfortunately, Those critters were in the freezer before we remembered to take a picture!
