Thank vou to those who put their faith in me by nominating me for the Young Conservatives Chair elections, whilst I was unsuccessful this time., I am incredibly encouraged by the feedback from the Selection Committee.
In 2011 the UK held a referendum about changing to a proportional voting system. 68% said No. All regions voted No. So this is a second referendum Mr Burnham wants to cancel. Why is he so against democratic votes?
We must stop importing this conspiratorial, yanky, right-wing populism masquerading as conservatism to Britain.
Mogg did an exemplary job of debunking Carson’s grift and gave not an inch.
When candidates campaign in foreign languages, it's impossible for most voters to hold them accountable.
And it's almost always used to pander to group-based grievances.
We must ban this poisonous practice, for good, and protect our democracy.
The @Young_Tories chair election only shows that the Tories haven’t learnt their lesson.
Still public infighting.
they are acting like they are selecting the next prime minister. the truth is no one cares about the YCs. this only makes the party look worse.
What on earth is Andy Burnham talking about? Talking about the “common wealth Labour created” until the 1980s came along.
Andy forgot to say that under Labour PM Sunny Jim Callaghan, exactly 50 years ago, the IMF had to come in and bail out the UK from the debt created under Labour! There was no “common wealth” created by Labour - just astronomical debt!
History is repeating itself.
Why do we talk so much about the triple lock on pensions, when there's much bigger issues to address in the welfare system?
Yes, scrapping the triple lock would save the country A LOT of money.
But reforming PIP, banning foreign nationals from receiving certain benefits, tightening UC restrictions would save so much more.
Odd, right?
Andy Burnham wants to take Britain back to the 1970s, a time of more government control, more trade union control and no economic growth. There is a reason our country took a different course after that decade.
Nothing Burnham announced today will do anything to fix Britain’s long-term problems. He had no plan to fix our stagnant economy. No plan to fund defence. No plan to sort out the spiralling welfare bill, beyond more government schemes.
His proposal to change the triple lock is already falling apart under scrutiny, and it won’t generate enough savings to fund a nationalised care system for another two decades, which means more tax rises are inevitable.
Britain does not need to recreate the politics of the 1970s. It needs a government prepared to take the difficult decisions, back those who work and build businesses, and look confidently to the future.
This Labour MP is partly right - British life is a fantasy.
But it definitely exists.
And claiming it doesn’t is just another step towards destroying it.

So far: only 6 charged, 53 still on bail
Seeing 2 women get falsely accused of racism and then be gaslight that they weren't accused of such things. Tv shows have a duty of care and to not let malicious rumours fly
Rochelle is literally right wtf they literally said “even my situation with Rochelle to me it felt like microaggression, if anyone else was over there heating up their food say Riana would you have reacted like that and that how you can decipher a microagrssion".?? No lie #bbuk
@KevinGhateh was a wonderful guy to speak to, speaking on the commitment he's had to give to build the YC to what it is to today and I wish the best of luck to the campaign
I'm no fan of Restore UK, but to see a mob harrasing and threatening canvassers is a disgrace, if you disagree with a party beat them at the ballot not on the streets
Restore Britain have promised to abolish student loan interest.
Here's the catch:
They don't know how they'll fund it, or how much it'll cost.
Restore are not serious.
The Crossbench have done their first interview during the Young Conservatives Chair elections with incumbent chair @KevinGhateh, speaking on his experience on running the organisation and being ready for a second term
