@CColose@GWPF_org The pace of climate change functions as a perceptual anesthetic—each new extreme normalized in the industrialized comfort zones that shape world response before the next extreme arrives. Compress the last 30 years into a single night and we'd call it what it is: catastrophe.
Fierce opposition and debate on a childhood marriage ban? Really?
"While the measure passed unanimously through the Senate, it was met with fierce opposition and debate in the House where it passed by a single vote Wednesday night with a vote of 51-36."

A weird hit piece bemoaning DEI requirements while pining for constitutional literacy popped up in my feed this morning. Deceptive nonsense: a course in American History or Political Philosophy earns DEI credit at many universities. Or would if DEI weren't being forcibly erased.
@nytimes@TheAthletic So how is dismissiveness about the Liberal Arts working out for the world lately? 🤔 The Big Aristotle understands the value of a well-rounded education. 😁
I miss the days when a president didn't threaten crimes against humanity in social media screeds. If we ever get out of this dystopian nightmare, we really need to support and sign on to the International Criminal Court.
Section 1 of the 14th Amendment is crystal clear. If the argument is that "illegal immigrants" are not "subject to the jurisdiction of the United States" it no longer makes any sense to call them "illegal." https://t.co/OLokxrCdbn
@evandawson I know you do! I just couldn't resist a little friendly philosophy PR after the on-air humor. Jokes aside, your guest majored in philosophy and followed one of its most traditional career paths: law. More philosophy grads are tracking billable hours than teaching Plato. 📚⚖️👍
@evandawson Listening to your show on my drive in. It's great. I had to pull over quickly because I would be remiss if I didn't point out that philosophy is an excellent major for those who want to go to law school -- it is known. 🙂
The hard fact: the world already has more fossil fuels than can safely be burned given climate change—yet the U.S. Energy Secretary goes on Meet the Press today claiming this war will make global energy more secure. What we need is a world made secure for reality checks.
