An insightful session led by Lasse X Jensen- Postdoc Researcher at the Univ of Copenhagen on 7th Oct 2024 for the students. The session exploring Gen AI tools & integration in Public Health Education was part of the Centre of Online Blended Learning Workshop conducted by PHFI.
Pedagogical innovations are often portrayed as panaceas for societal issues – poverty, inclusion, employability... Authentic assessment is a prime example of this. In our new study led by @timbocop, we argue this powerful idea must be handled critically: https://t.co/BoUvM24D4C
In our new paper, we discuss the claims about #genAI that appeared in higher education media in the first wild months after #ChatGPT was released.

Out today in Higher Education.
Collab between @KU_GlobalHealth, @CRADLEdeakin/@margaret_bea, and @thePHFI
Such an excellent read by @CasDamian on philosophical stance, vital for anyone starting out in HPE (and even broader education research).
Honoured to be cited amongst many far greater researchers and philosophers too!
@DrSarahEaton@phillipdawson@CRADLEdeakin@margaret_bea Doctoral student wanted to find out if it was most suitable to integrate results and discussion or keep them separate. Supervisors thought he needed to first consider the core argument of the introduction, to make it clear why the paper was even needed
In @CRADLEdeakin symposium, @LXJensen talking about AI vs PhD supervisor feedback. Sounds to me like AI gave him what he asked for, though it took a few tries to get it, but supervisors (@margaret_bea & Boud) gave what they thought he needed.
🌟🎖️ Congratulations to Lasse Jensen, @margaret_bea & David Boud, whose article "Characteristics of productive feedback encounters in online learning" was commended for our Editors' Choice Award for 2024!

‘Authentic’ saw a substantial increase in lookups in 2023, driven by stories and conversations about AI, celebrity culture, identity, and social media.

@JKandiyali Yeah, we have to tell the editor. But unsure if we just bring it up when returning the revised manuscript, or it's better to speak to them before doing more revisions
Got paper back from peer-review. Spent full day on revisions before I realize:
Reviewer2 is simply unedited ChatGPT output.
Explains the fundamental misunderstandings, and requests that do not make any sense.
What to do?
@bastrimbos@davidjnicol Working on a paper about this right now. Students engage in a bunch of feedback processes that educators aren't involved in at all. I'd point to @LXJensen's work on feedback encounters e.g. https://t.co/d1jHK05l7r
