Thank you, @JoAnneSimonBK52 and @SenatorPersaud! I agree. New York's climate law is the best way to reduce energy costs and dependence on volatile and polluting fossil fuels. We need clean energy not dirty fossil fuels that harm our health and leave us with energy insecurity.
Senator Persaud & I looked at gas prices, and they sure do tell a story: Trump’s illegal war in Iran is increasing energy costs.
NY’s defense against high prices is our climate law, the CLCPA. ☀️Renewable energy is affordable energy.☀️
@GovKathyHochul Protect the CLCPA
I just wrote a @agreenewyork letter: Angry about your energy bills? Here's what you can do right now. (Deadline 3/30) Write one here: https://t.co/yyKqNQnu7o
The NYers I know with low energy bills have efficient homes and electric appliances, rooftop or community solar, and battery backup. Weakening the climate law will only widen the gap between those with access to 21st century energy solutions and residents stuck on expensive gas.
The governor has it all wrong. New Yorkers cannot afford backtracking on the state’s landmark climate law. Inaction risks much higher costs.

Reformed January 6th participant (who refused a pardon): “You can't gaslight me. I was there. I saw the officers being pepper sprayed. I watched one of them fall down and hit his head and his back. So don't be telling me it wasn't violent.”
5 years ago today, a violent mob ripped down doors, broke through windows, and beat law enforcement officers to storm the U.S. Capitol building and prevent the peaceful transfer of power.
In the face of this administration’s attempts to erase the horrors of that dark day, I'll keep speaking out against any and all attacks against our nation and its freedoms. And I will never forget the extraordinary bravery of law enforcement that day to keep the light of democracy alive for us all.
#DearWorldLeaders, we need real plans to phase out fossil fuels and transition to clean energy. And we need them now. You made a promise, now keep it. https://t.co/WZB3W2lech #COP30@Cop30noBrasil
You don’t want people rummaging through your wallets, and you don’t want people rummaging through your tax returns.
Let’s be clear: Improper access or disclosure of Americans tax returns is a crime.
DOGE says they are transparent—prove it: We demand answers on why DOGE is rooting around in American families’ tax returns when it’s a crime.
Republicans’ budget proposal is a betrayal of American families - slashing Medicaid, Medicare, & Social Security to finance $4.5 trillion in tax breaks for billionaires. Budgets reflect values – and theirs puts working people last. Read more here:

DOGE is a trojan horse to gut labor, consumer, and environmental protections.
If DOGE actually wanted to cut waste, it would address the massive tax loopholes, government contracts, and subsidies that benefit the wealthy and large corporations.
The Founding Fathers of this country created the longest standing democracy on earth and millions of Americans fought and died to preserve it.
Trump is betraying their vision and moving us to authoritarianism.
Stand tall. Defend democracy. We will win.

@GovKathyHochul, it's past time to pass NY HEAT and shut down the Sheridan Ave. Steam Plant! Fund additional work on the ESP Master Plan and accelerate the timeframe to decarbonization.
Over 40 Capitol Region activists join state and local elected officials to call on @GovKathyHochul to pass the Renewable Capitol Act and NY HEAT! @RenewablHeatNow
One of the biggest fights on climate in the country is going down in New York right now and not that many people know about it.
Here's the deal: we're just one signature away from striking a major blow against Big Oil...
