Some days the universe says go home!
Being in the PNW, Fred Meyer‘s has always been a thing. There are a couple of items I get there that they don’t have locally around town anywhere else so if I’m nearby, I’ll swing in and grab it.
Over the last number of years I have started avoid Fred Meyer because it’s nothing but slack-jawed boomers that were dropped off by a bus from the senior center.
They should not be walking around or riding their motorized carts unattended because they don’t even know which side of the aisles to drive down. They also like to park right in the middle and just stare for indeterminate amounts of time.
After 4 to 5 aisles of having to back out and somehow get around another boomer who can’t close their mouth while pushing a cart ,I finally gave up.
Wanted to just walk away from the cart and leave but politely took my items back to each spot that I’ve gotten them and was trying to put the cart back.
When I walked the cart out the door, because I did not go through a checkout aisle (empty cart mind you), the wheels lock up.
I have to stand there until the cart wrangler kid comes and unlocks it and then he stares at me like I’m supposed to continue walking it across to the cart area. I just looked at them and said “I’ll let you handle this since the store is making it hard for me to be put things back where I found them.”
