Big congrats to our postdoc, Justyna, who has been awarded the 2024 Young Researcher Prize 🏆 from the Danish Parkinson Disease Association! #Science#Teamwork
🎉 Thrilled to share that we’ve received a grant from the Medical Research Council to study mitophagy and α-syn pathology 🧠. We’ve also received a grant from the Danish Parkinson’s Association to launch a project on the effects of PFAS on neurodevelopment 🧪. Onward & upward! 😊
Our group's latest review delves into the pathogenesis of DJ-1/PARK7-mediated Parkinson’s disease. Check it out now in @Cells_MDPI!

I am happy to share that our latest paper is now published in Cell Death & Disease @Cddpress! Our study demonstrates that USP30 inhibition induces #mitophagy and reduces #oxidativestress in parkin-deficient human neurons.

A very exciting first day of our #aSyn workshop. A huge thanks to the Alfred Benzon Foundation for funding this event and especially to Claudio Soto, Morten Meyer and Alexander Ross and Carolina Quaglia for joining us @UniklinikEssen@DTU_HealthTech@Proteopathy_Lab@LabMorten
New function found for pericytes. They degrade alpha-synuclein aggregates and could play a role in delaying the spread of Parkinson’s disease. https://t.co/Bv0k18qFjC
Our new paper is out in Stem Cell Reports! We show that PARK2 mutations lead to metabolic dysregulation including altered mitochondrial and energy homeostasis, increased oxidative stress, and a reduced anti-oxidative response.
