"How did the campaign to remove women's rights find such fertile ground in the Labour movement?"
Chair @ToniaAntoniazzi introduces humdinger speeches from @JoaniReid@tracygilbert72 & then @soniasodha, who unmasks the harms of the Conversion Bill in 🧵⬇️

Attacks on women in politics are unacceptable.
It is attacks such as these that will continue to discourage women from entering into politics and participating in politics equally and fully.
It is such a serious problem worldwide that the mandate dedicated a stand-alone report for it in the past: https://t.co/GgF30GuNMT
States must tackle this type for violence once and for all more decisively, making it clear that there is no place in society for such crimes.
Solidarity with Ms. Haines and her family.
Today's hearing in the case has been changed to a private case management hearing and no observers are allowed.
Submissions are likely tomorrow morning at 10 am.
We will advise as we have more information.
We provide the secretariat for the Senedd CPG on Women's Rights jointly with @WRNWales, so won't comment in detail on this story. We want the group to be a success and its purpose aligns with statements made by @PrifWeinidog and @Plaid_Cymru Ministers in the Siambr. We are sad that Safa Elhassan has left and surprised and disappointed that the quote the party apparently provided on her behalf implies that there is something wrong with our values. MSs from all political parties, including Plaid, are always welcome to attend future meetings. https://t.co/BCoUu46Qjn
LIB DEM SILENCE: We have made every effort to engage all political parties on the issue of single-sex spaces in the NHS and to ensure they hear directly from female staff affected by the impact of gender identity policies in the workplace.
We have met with representatives from the Labour Government, the Conservatives, and Reform.
We have also repeatedly reached out to the @LibDems, particularly following their troubling treatment of gender-critical women at their recent conference.
From @EdwardJDavey, @timfarron, and @HelenMorganMP, we have received only silence.
Given that silence, we hoped the party's spokesperson for women and equalities, Marie Goldman MP, would want to hear the experiences of frontline NHS nurses involved in a landmark legal case.
Again, silence.
Women who believe that biological sex matters, that truth matters, and that every person deserves dignity and respect are hearing that message loud and clear
This is an utter disgrace.
Can we all send her the @WomensRightsNet report on sexual violence in Hospitals https://t.co/nEFei3i9cQ
And the judgment from the @DarlingtonUnion employment tribunal judgement?

This is absolutely crazy. A Welsh politician and her husband have been bullied out of publicly showing support for women's rights by Wales' ruling party, @plaidcymru. It's like they think it's still 2016, or possibly 1916.
We are "committed to protecting the rights of LGBTQ+ people in Wales, just as we are committed to equality for women and girls. These are not mutually exclusive" say @PlaidCymru as they ban female MS from joining group on women's rights in case it upsets transactivists 🙄🤔🥱
❤️
‘We wish to take a moment to reflect on our client’s courage and commitment to her case, her rights as a woman, a Muslim woman and a woman who experienced sexual violence in her past’
She ‘pursued this case not just for her but for all women’

Faye Russell-Caldicott / LS v @NHSEngland Remedy Judgment is out. Neither party appealed so case is closed. A similar case to @DarlingtonUnion and #SandiePeggie, against the mother of all @NHS

In a local bookshop, the gay section only had books on ‘queer’ and ‘trans.’ The word lesbian was nowhere to be seen.
Young lesbians, struggling with their sexuality, are being indoctrinated to believe they are anything but real lesbians.
And this indoctrination is everywhere
@bphillipsonMP To understand what your #ConversionPracticesDraftBill will look like in reality, read this article from 2022. @DrAzHakeem was reported to the GMC by a confused & upset 17 year old girl, with a fragile sense of self, who desperately needed to believe she was actually a boy.
She was unable to cope with any challenge, however gentle, to her adopted identity and so lashed out in anger and confusion, egged on by activists online, as her mental health crumbled.
We guarantee this will happen again and again, as children are encouraged by online communities to lash out at the adults who are trying to protect them. And parents to won’t be protected any more than professionals. @BinTheBill_

CONVICTED: On 21 June 2026, Joan Hardy, 72, was stabbed to death at a home she shared with her son in Linton, near Swadlincote. Her son, Adrian Hardy, 52, has pleaded guilty to her murder and is awaiting sentence.
2/ No Act of parliament recognises contested identity concepts in law. This draft bill does. It removes the freedom to question or not believe in such. It makes it a crime to say "I think you are a lesbian, not a trans man" to your distressed daughter.
The bill invents a completely new thing called a "transgender identity".
It doesn't define what a "transgender identity" is, and there's no scientific evidence that it exists.
It says you can "have" a "transgender identity".
Or you can "believe" you have a "transgender identity".
The difference is not explained, but it's a crime to try to change either.
“The law is clear for sport competitions designated as ‘women’s competitions’ to ensure fairness or safety - participation is determined based on biological sex.”
A very clear statement from @Steph_Peacock Minister for Sport, during the Sporting Events Bill Committee session 1/
Despite the Equality Act 2010, the @ForWomenScot Supreme Court clarification and @EHRC guidance, the @GOVUK still uses tax payer money to fund thirty sports that do not comply with the law and still allow males to compete in the female category at some level /3
"Nobody is coming to hand these institutions back. We will have to take them back, one member, one vote, one refusal to stay quiet at a time.
The fight is hard, but it is winnable. Every member who joins it makes the next fight easier to win. And the next member could be you."
