Just another day in Melbourne 😞. This hulking great big man pushed me and other women trying to get off the tram out of the way as he aggressively barged onto the tram. His sign reads "TO CIS FEMALES ARE YOU AWARE YOUR MEN STARE AT MY BREASTS". Photo taken by me this morning.
@Hookrack2019@the_fem_tm I saw a tweet with this video literally describing it as a marker for the downfall of the west. People are EXCEPTIONALLY weird about this video. And as someone who HAS worked on an all women team (7 of us), it was never sorority-like. It was a workplace like any other.
@Hookrack2019 It’s called marketing and it was incredibly successful thanks in no small part to the hysterical men who crashed out about it and shared it millions of times online and are still doing so lol.
Situationships are one of the worst things modern dating normalized. They are just a way for people to enjoy the attention, closeness, and benefits of relationship without giving any real commitment. It is selfish, confusing, and unfair. One person is usually hoping it turns into something real while the other is just enjoying the convenience. It wastes time, creates false hope, and leaves people hurt for no reason.
@Justice_099@the_fem_tm I used to work in this industry, this isn’t some hidden secret. :) That’s why it all comes down to marketing. And the women behind this skincare (and now hair care) company are good at that!
@Justice_099@the_fem_tm “Society can do without yet another rebottled and labeled same formula product.”
They can also do without yet another rebottled and labeled Man Complaining About Women on X
@sylintactgrate@kangminlee Yeah, these women sell physical products + have built a successful company. They put effort into product development for skincare products, and now the CEO has started a hair care brand. That’s a much more traditional success story than “if enough people see my post, I get $100”
Man starts a company selling products to people who will buy them: “this is capitalism”
Woman starts company selling products to people who will buy them: “this is daycare”
I got crucified once on here for saying “all sex even the sex between men and women has become gay” and that that’s been bad for women lol but w/e really was an insane couple of days never had more DM’s, blocks, and even a podcast episode made about the comment. Seems obvious and true and kind of a mundane observation at this point. Bonnie blue being the extreme end of this phenomenon.
Never understood the reasoning here. The culture that is being adopted by others is winning. That’s one major way cultures compete. This bizarre defensiveness only had (and still has) the effect of assisting American and European cultural dominance by limiting the spread of others. “My culture is not your costume” is a wild thing to say when most of the world wears British style business suits and blue jeans. That isn’t appropriation, it’s influence.
The confidence these folks felt that they were championing their own cultures, while actively working against them, was a crazy thing to observe. It might also be the best evidence I’ve ever seen that cultural assimilation is unavoidable. After all, what could possibly be more American than thinking you know what’s best for other countries while actively ignoring the people living there?
The fact that generative AI has created a fundamental doubt in reality. We now pause to check if an artwork, video, or design is even human-made before we can fully appreciate it. It has really damaged the instinctive joy of it. It’s sickeningly tragic.
I am, according to TRAs, solely at fault for an adult man’s decision to cut my breasts off as a 14 year old, but it’s all of society’s fault when trans identified people choose to commit suicide. “take responsibility for your choices” only goes one way, apparently.
sometimes I think about starting a substack and posting about this stuff under my real name, because WHY am I so scared of losing friends or being cancelled in my activist social circles?Anyways TikTok I made last year that feels pertinent rn.
