Lovely summer fun day in Keir Hardie Recreation Ground today celebrating Newham’s 60th anniversary.
The sun was shining, lots of local community groups and plenty of local people enjoying the park, the sunshine, the food and the fun.
The Father Goose Community centre has been named after the St Luke’s parish priest from 1933-1978.
It was good to meet current Vicar, Reverend Amy this weekend and talk about plans for St Luke’s 150th birthday celebrations later this year.
Yesterday, I visited the new development in Silvertown Quays to see the progress. It was great to see homes and sites for new businesses being built as part of the regeneration of this bit of the docks.
As cities continue to evolve, density is becoming one of urban development’s greatest strengths.
