The Government are proposing narrowing the right to guaranteed hours to only workers contracted for less than 20 hours a week - this does not meet the 2024 manifesto commitment to guaranteed hours for everyone ❌

Joanne Thomas has given evidence to the House of Commons Business and Trade Select Committee about the impact of the Government consultation on guaranteed hours 🗣️

Limiting this right will make workers worse off - EVERYONE deserves the right to a contract that reflects the hours they actually work ✅

Now they're plotting to scrap the Equality Act and stop women from getting their stolen wages back.

We were proud to host, alongside @ThompsonsLaw and all our affiliated unions, this wonderful event to celebrate the Centenary of the @TUGroupOfLabMPs and mark the passing of the Employment Rights Act.

Labour was formed by the labour movement to elect workers to Parliament, to govern in the interests of working people and their communities - and the Trade Union Group of Labour MPs has spent 100 years holding Labour to that mission.
