BMS ELA’s department is learning and discussing Kaplan’s Depth of Complexity for annotating texts. I am loving hearing the engagement and interactions students are having around texts. #WeAreBlackman
There are days we forget how young our students really are; most likely because we demand such big things from them. We also forget how many of our youth have good hearts bc 10% of the group weigh on us with their disrespect and lack of motivation. But what about the other 90%?
My days are usually stressful, and I may only get a few minutes to sit down. My brain is thinking of solutions to at least five problems at any given time. So, you would think adding a small group to my schedule each and everyday, would just send me over the edge.
Half of my group asked if they could play the word game I had with me. I was like of course you can. They replied with, “yeah, but will you play with us?”
A group of 8th graders, boys and girls, wanted to play a card game during their free 25 minutes with a teacher.
BMS 101 is in the books for our new teachers. Great job by by our instructional coaches Dr. Jernigan and Mrs. Wilcox. It’s going to be a great school year. @Mrs_PhillipsBMS@jessjackson32 @MrsGorden
RTI Exit Party. Our students who have worked incredibly hard this semester to exit RTI were rewarded with popsicles and a game of kickball this afternoon! #WeAreBlackman
