@tandfn The same is true for an international 18 year old who hasn’t gone through the American education system with state guided seasons, daily and weekly practice limits and academic requirements.
@RossDellenger@YahooSports Unless there is a provision in Section 125 for US citizenship, the protection is just a political game. D1 Roster spots increasingly go to international athletes. Recent track results are a good example. @tedcruz@SenatorCantwell
@Super70sSports — what’s your reaction to this? Seems like something you may have played at recess (primarily because the school didn’t allow wooden bats on the playground)
@USABaseball@USABaseball5 Played this game on the elementary school playground in 1979. We had a pitcher who bounced the pitch and used a pinky rubber ball. Hit with a closed hand. Good times.
@McShay13 Optics of this are terrible for departments that are not profitable (even with donations) within their institutions. The leaders have no financial discipline and complain costs are rising. Yet every decision that is made just perpetuates their problem.
@kwmcnamee House settlement was about caps. It focused on roster spots while ignoring the reality of finances and Title IX. Lots of people applauded “scholarship everybody” but the reality is that it meant only scholarship a few teams completely and leave the others to slowly shutter.
@PatrickMcEnroe@WSJopinion Thank you for getting involved and using your platform to help raise awareness and potentially steer the direction. Right now, it lacks real fiduciary style stewardship.
Congratulations to Portola #TrackAndField - League Champs!
Girls 4th consecutive
Boys 4th in 5 years
The program continues to be the most underrated in #Irvine#OrangeCounty. Since 2022,
▪️4 Girls League Titles
▪️4 Boys League Titles
▪️6+ D1 athletes

@kwmcnamee@TomMarsLaw Agreed. On the surface, it appears the House settlement concept of being able to scholarship everybody has replaced Title IX equality formulas in Financial Aid in the minds of university administrators.
@TomMarsLaw I think if you review many D1 athletic programs after the House settlement you will see a disparity especially in the Aid category. I would love to see an analysis on this. Maybe not intended or “legal” but seems to have given permission for not being Title IX compliant.
